80% of the inmates in Angola prison are serving life sentences without the possibility of parole. Angola prison had been averaging 40 murders a year when the new warden stepped in. His first actions were to have everyone treated as if they were created in the image of God. All people should be treated with that dignity. No swearing by prisoners or guards was allowed. People who died in prison would get wooden coffins, not the cardboard that had been used.

The next step was to create Christian seminaries in the prison to teach people how God has reached out to them so that He may always be with them. Through private funding a Christian college and several chapels were built. Inmates are free to attend as they wish.

Today there are a number of prisoners who are now ordained Pastors. Most inmates now attend the college or services. Even Muslims attend. And Angola has gone from 40 murders a year to not one since 1996.

For Angola inmates, a big task: making Billy Graham's casket

Of course, the real change at Angola has been warden Cain, who coerces inmates violently. He could achieve the same result with Buddhism, Zoroatrianism, paganism, secular humanism, whatever. When you starve and hurt people, they will say and do just about anything.

All you have is lies.

Nope, sorry to break your heart... it's true. Did you REALLY think anyone just proselytized the murder out of Angola with pretty speeches? Come on, get real. And then go read up on it. There are some great pieces on it out there to read.

Yep, you leftists are hate mongers. Explains why most murders are committed by leftists.

Dufus, stop being such an asshole troll.
I'm not. I think it is important to push back on the narrative that proselytizing jaysus's message has turned Angola around, morally. The truth is that brutality has managed that, which makes it less moral, really. It' is a fact that should not be cast aside, lest you question your OWN morality.
