A “Do Nothing” Congress

The Senate Majority leader can make a determination that his party won't vote for bills that harm the American people and not waste the Senate's time on meaningless attempts to repeal the ACA.

He is under no obligation whatsoever to obey the Speaker and whatever garbage he can push through with a majority of extreme hard right zealots intent upon harming both Obama and the hardworking people of this nation.

So the onus is on you to prove that the Senate Majority Leader doesn't have that power.

Are you dense?

Not one word of your post makes the least bit of sense,.

When the Majority Leader "pockets" bills and does not even allow Senators to discuss or vote upon them, that is a tyranny by a single individual.

Where does he have the constitutional right to determine beforehand what Senators are going to vote upon? Even before they are openly discussed?

And, of course, the Senate Majority Leader has that "power" simply because his fellow Democrat Senators have abrogated their responsibilities to review and openly vote upon resolutions. Dingy Harry doesn't even allow them to present, discuss, and vote upon Senate Resolutions.

You need to go back and take Government 101 all over again because it is clear you have no idea how either branch of Congress is supposed to operate.

I'm sure you are exactly right, but would you explain how the senate majority leader exercising his rights as senate majority leader is somehow against the constitution?

The Speaker of the House decides which bills to bring to the floor of the House for the members to vote on. The Senate Majority Leader decides which bills to bring to the floor of the Senate for the members to vote on. Those are the Parliamentary Rules as agreed upon by all members at the beginning of each Congressional Session.

Congress The Basics The Institution Resources House and Senate Rules of Procedure A Comparison

The scheduling of legislation for House floor action is the fundamental prerogative of the Speaker.

The Senate Majority Leader has the authority to raise measures for Senate floor consideration.

Looks like you need to take your own advice and enroll in Government 101.

Old Harry sure proved that in Senate, didn't he?

As did Boner when he refused to take up the bipartisan Senate bill for immigration reform.

Barry Hussein and Harry Reid had it worked out so that the republican majority in congress would not be able to push a bill through. Reid changed the rules so that the democrat majority could kill any bill that they didn't like and Barry was able to campaign and play golf rather than worrying about the government. Things are different now. As usual Americans are smarter than the democrat party realizes and they were blindsided in the most stunning landslide in a mid-term election in modern times. Barry might have to postpone a couple of golf outings this year.
