The Second Continental Congress declared May 17, 1776 as a day of Humiliation, Fasting, and Prayer for the people to humble themselves before God and repent of their sins. They would fast for the day and supplicate God in prayer for forgiveness for their sins as individuals and as a nations and to seek His favor in the conflict with Great Britain that was beginning. They were willing to humble themselves before God and serve Him for their liberties. He was their God, and they were His people.

We live in a day when we need to renew the covenant our Founders made with our Heavenly Father. So there is a movement to set aside May 17, 2012 as a day of Humiliation, Fasting, and Prayer so that we can supplicate God for the remission of our sins as individuals and as a people. We will seek His guidance and His Holy Hand of Divide Providence in Restoring our Republic and our liberty. And we will seek to once again do as Ancient Israel, and as our Founders did and promise that He will be our God, and we will be His people.

People of all faiths, sects, denominations, backgrounds etc, are invited to join. Please mark this on your calandars and Let us seek the hand of Divine Providence in the life of our nation. Let us seek His Spirit and repent of our many sins. If any of you have a sin in your life that you haven't forsaken, choose now as a time to eliminate it.

If you are proud, seek to be humble.

If you lie, seek to be honest.

If you are apathetic, or full of anger or hate, seek to be charitable.

Love your enemies. Pray for them that despitefully use you.

If pornography plagues your life, flee it.

Find good and uplifting media and activities to replace the less than honorable media you watch.

Teach your children to love the scriptures and study them yourselves.

There are so many things we can do to change our lives. We need to repent because our Constitution was designed to govern only a moral and upright people.

If they really want to do this, they should change "humiliation" to "humility." Humility is a virtue, humiliation a misfortune.

Humiliation is merely the act of being made humble. The fact that it currently has a negative connotation doesn't mean the word isn't accurate.

Quite frankly, this nation needs to humble itself severely. Our hubris will destroy us if we let it.

That's not a "current" meaning. It's what the word has always meant. When you call on Americans to be "humble," or for a day of "humility," you are calling on them to become more virtuous. When you call for a "day of humiliation," you are calling for a Pearl Harbor, a Black Tuesday, or a 9/11. Please don't.

You're quite the little tyrant, aren't you Dragon?

No, I'm not. But I'm a believer in magic, and in the laws of magic, and what I see here is a spell inadvertently calling down misfortune on my country. I take that seriously.

Good for you, no one else does. ;)

Yeah, that's what's worrisome. I guess I'll say that I appreciate the warning, and set the countermeasures in motion.

Just a reminder that Thursday is the a day many of us have set aside to humble ourselves before God in Fasting and prayer for a forgiveness of our sins as individuals and as a nation and to restore our Nation and the liberty it promised.

Nothing suffocates you more than
The passing of everyday human events
Isolation is the oxygen mask you make
Your children breathe in to survive

But I'm not a slave to a god
That doesn't exist
But I'm not a slave to a world
That doesn't give a shit

And when we were good
You just closed you eyes
So when we are bad
We'll scar your minds

Fight, fight, fight, fight

You'll never grow up to be a big-
Rock-star-celebrated-victim-of-your-fame
They'll just cut our wrists like
Cheap coupons and say that death
Was on sale today

And when we were good
You just closed you eyes
So when we are bad
We'll scar your minds

But I'm not a slave to a god
That doesn't exist
But I'm not a slave to a world
That doesn't give a shit

The death of one is a tragedy
The death of one is a tragedy
The death of one is a tragedy
But death of a million is just a statistic

Right on.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
