A Christian lives well, a brothers in need, and he won't help him-can God's love be within him?

How many people have you helped, Rderp? That's the problem, you want to bitch and moan but you expect the government to do all of it. Christians are the ones out there doing the leg work, they are with the Outreach programs, they are feeding and providing clothing. Without their help the less fortunate would be in even worse shape. Stop confusing politics with what Christians are doing. It's complete and utter BS

Not confusing politics and Christians. However, people who claim Christianity for political reasons are a different story. If the right wing really was motivated by Christ's teachings, you wouldn't be as hateful and greedy as you are. You have no way of knowing what anyone else has done to help others, and while you want to take credit for the known good works of Christian organizations, the crap you continually post deny any real compassion for anybody.

You have no way of knowing anybody either...but that doesn't stop you from proclaiming it. Hypocrite
Fake Christian

Yep. As we speak chaplains are arraigning for poor families to get food baskets for Christmas and thanksgiving as well as clothing and toys. Not to mention poor children abroad to receive boxes with school supplies, toiletries and gifts.
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

Fuck the food baskets. Help him, not humor him.

Republicans on this board thinks it's better to give someone a few canned goods than helping them learn a trade where they can take care of themselves.

Idiots have taken over the GOP. Don't believe me? Read the posts on this thread.

1 John 3:17 But if someone who is supposed to be a Christian has money enough to live well, and sees a brother in need, and won't help him--how can God's love be within him ? 1 John 3:18Little children, let us stop just saying we love people; let us really love them, and show it by our actions. 1 John 3:19 Then we will know for sure, by our actions, that we are on God's side, and our consciences will be clear, even when we stand before the Lord.

See what I mean? Right wing Christians aren't really Christians in the traditional sense. These are the same people who cut food stamps for children. Who cut benefits for veterans. Who want to end school lunches and block health care for millions of Americans. Doing one thing and saying something different is bearing false witness. It's a very bad sin. If they believe in the afterlife, they will pay. A Christian with a conscience will pay leading up to death, but it will be too late. Only now is the time.
Ask Obama his aunt is on the dole and his brother lives in a mud hut

This is the tired old response, "well I as a Christian don't have to help anyone because I see other people not helping".

Sorry, that bullshit won't fly.

Either you ARE a Christian, which means you emulate and live your life as Jesus did and commands you do. or you AREN'T a Christian.

This is another of those things that is just uncomfortable as hell for so many who claim to be Christians because they do in fact see people suffering who they could help, yet they don't because it would cost them money or time.

1/6 of children in the country go to bed hungry. How can there possibly be ANY 'christians' that have wealth?

Answer, there can't. They aren't Christians.

The 'brotherhood' needs to get a hold of this Iraqi business man (in the interview) and ask for money to support those that funds misplaced as he did as he says "however much it takes".

When you feel God's love for yourself, you will realize that you don't need to worry about whether others have charity or not, only that you do.

So rdean, do you have the pure love of Christ in you? Do you know how much God loves you? Have you been spiritually born of God and received His image on your countenance?

When you do, your heart and mind will expand in amazing ways.

Btw, the Lord expects us to help our brethren with our own resources and gifts. We are to do so freely. We aren't supposed to take from others to give of their resources. The command to not steal is still in effect.

Here RDean. You do realize you can also buy a family a goat and/ or other live stock, pay for healthcare, education, food, clothes and even help refugee's...all through the same Christian organization...yes?

Poor Libs always so short sighted.

The difference is in how and why help is given. If someone gives freely of themselves is one thing. Someone taking out of somebody else's pockets via taxman and the threat of government violence for resisting is quite another. And lest we forget, all that money that you want government to spend to help someone has to be first taken from someone else at the point of a gun...or leveraged against your children because of bounced checks.

Individual Christian mandate =/= US government mandate. If it did, guess who would be in front lines screaming about the separation of Church and State? You DO know that a Christian theocracy would be very uncomfortable for most anti-Christians, right? Or maybe you're only after a political hit point, something you think will cause embarrassment, and as such, your thread is pointless.
