A better solution to our natl woes than my previous ones

Ok, after much thinking, I have come up with a solution to our national woes that doesn't involve starting WW3.

Here it is:

1. Repudiate the natl debt. Our credit rating is already shot, and there's no way our creditors can make us pay up.
2. Invest that freed-up cash into oil and gas exploration and extraction on federal lands, and research into renewable energy sources for when those run out.
3. Dismantle Social Security. It's nothing more than a pyramid scheme tricking Americans out of investing in the future. Replace it with a mandatory 401(k).
4. Peg the dollar to gold. Stop manipulating interest rates.
5. Replace the income tax with a flat gross receipts tax.
6. Stop sending foreign aid.

That's mighty radical.

But the feds have no business investing in oil and gas, other than simply opening federal lands including ANWR, the eastern Gulf of Mexico, and the Atlantic and Pacific OCS.

That's what I meant. Open up federal lands.

And this is a lot less radical than invading OPEC and starting WW3.

Well I didn't address your other points because oil and gas is my comfort zone.
Besides, I'm half way into a pint of whiskey at the moment.

We could also sell all the land west of the Mississippi. Lots of natural resources for our companies to extract, thus creating jobs and tax revenue, not to mention the value of the land itself. Plus, we can reduce the Interior Department to next to nothing.
