A Bankster Calls For Glass-Steagall

You are a con, pumping out the right wing dogma, full time.

But dear so were our Founders? Did you ever read their Constitution?
If you don't like freedom from liberal government why don't you move to Cuba? Wouldn't you rather be among your own kind? Florida is 90 miles away but liberals prefer the liberal government of Cuba even when it produces 8% of what our economy produces. Go figure.

Am not a liberal.....just someone who loves the Country and does not trust the Government.

Cuban GDP grew 2.1% in the first half of 2012 (this year).
U.S. GDP grew 1.5% in the first half of this year.

Cuba had a 4 billion dollar trade surplus in 2011.
U.S. trade deficit at 48.7 billion in May 2012.

Are you a Patriot? (doubt it!)
Go figure.

Cuban economic figures are less trustworthy than anything that comes out of Obama's mouth. Hard to believe, I know.

An fine example of a liberal who might have spied for Stalin! Why don't you move to Cuba to be with the communists you defend out of pure ignorance?

Do you think a personal attack on our Founders is in order???

You an' Todd ain't no Patriots.

You're both just like the self-serving Bahstards that used others' people money to gamble at the economic craps table, called Wall St., to enrich themselves; and when they went 'bust', looked to others' people money, to bail their asses out.
You both are SCUM!!!

You both are SCUM!!!

you say we're scum? Is it because you are a communist living out your life in a free country? You said you were not a liberal, so what are you?

An ex-businessman who gave to get, who realized there was enough slices of the pie to go around, and wanted to see most economic boats lifted.

Doesn't sound like anything like you, huh?

come on, you said you were not a liberal and you defended Cuba. Be honest, are you a communist??

Do you realize you are a morality bigot too? You feel morally superior because you want to hand out welfare slices to one and all. It takes much more to be morally superior than welfare!!

I only advocate a level playing field that does not choose a handful of concerns that gets designated as 'too big to fail'.
If that makes me a 'morality bigot', if that makes me 'morally superior', if that makes me a 'welfare advocate', then you are more screwed up then I initially thought! Bank Bailouts were the largest form of welfare in western economic history!!!!
And, BTW, what has Cuba been doing right recently economically, as opposed to what we are doing wrong?

Obviously, because I don't believe economic numbers made up by Castro. You're funny.

Costs of War on Poverty = 6.98 trillion.

Costs of Bank Bailouts = COULD cost 23.7 trillion............da' jury's still out........

Those whom call for unfettered Capitalism, don't cry me a river.
The former failed, and the latter is destined to fail to, unless basic economic restructuring occurs.

I love the bad math.
The bank bailouts were profitable for the Treasury.
The auto bailouts will end up costing tens of billions.
Fannie and Freddie over $100 billion.
Trillions, that's silly.

The bank bailouts were profitable for the Treasury. Not actually. CBO estimates that Tarp will cost about $37B. Estimate was in March of this year.

The auto bailouts will end up costing tens of billions. Same article says CBO estimate for the cost of the auto beout will be about $19B.

Fannie and Freddie over $100 billion. Agreed. Latest estimate I have seen is $124B.

Bank TARP = profitable.
Auto TARP and mortgage giveaways in TARP = unprofitable.
Because, you know, TARP wasn't just banks.

Let me know if there's anything else you're confused about, I'm always glad to educate you.

Thanks for the link. Looky here.

After buying up $205 billion in stock from roughly 800 financial institutions during the crisis, as well as throwing another $40 billion just at bank titans Citigroup and Bank of America, the CBO estimates the government will turn a $25 billion profit on that portion.

I love it when that happens.

Yup, I think we are in agreement.

unless basic economic restructuring occurs.

let me guess, liberal communist restructuring???? Do you want the Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, or Castro version or do you have a new version that won't start off killing so many millions?

Norman Thomas quotes:
The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.
