I seem to remember some pretty strong conservative opposition to the Bosnian Conflict.

Yea, but that was all from politicians. Politicians HAVE to take a stand on it one way or the other. But you didnt see conservatives breaking out in protests, or the press telling lies about clinton, even though clinton did lie us into that conflict, and we are still there, talk about a quagmire.

I know logic is something you don't embrace Chad but please, if it isn't too difficult for you, could you explain how you can say you support the troops and yet you don't support the job they are doing. Our "best in the world" military is populated by volunteers, none were forced to sign up. The overwhelming percentage of these outstanding individuals agree not only with their Commander In Chief but also the work they are doing in Afghanistan and Iraq. They understand more than you could possibly imagine exactly why the coalition is there and how historically important their objective is.

It is an insult to those that know the job, it's risk, it's rewards and put their lives on the line everyday, every hour for you to be able to make that weak ass statement. Try to actually lead rather than follow your comrads in school, they no doubt are parroting their favorite no talent band that is telling them what to think, you should be smarter than that..... after all, you have the wisdom of this board to help you(many years of experience in real life).

You know what kid, I have been on this planet way too long and know too much to follow anyone. You have reached your opinions from people who read other's lines, pitiful pretend musicians that feign a knowledge of politics, instructors that hide out in schools rather than try to make it doing what they attempt to teach in the real world and of course the Howie Deans. Political hacks that will say and promise anything to regain power at the expense of our country.

I gather knowledge from having lived life on this planet for 52 years in a wide variety of situations. I read newspapers from around the world each day along with listening to experts on politics from both sides of the political spectrum... everyday. I have a genuine interest in what politicians do that effect my life, I find that a great deal more interesting than being a sports fan. I don't read the sports section of the paper, I read the business section.

At my age I know enough to know I can never learn enough, when you stop learning it's like a shark that stops swimming, you die. My opinions on our President are my own. My opinions on our need to be in the Middle East are my own from reading and talking to people that have actually been there and believe very strongly in their mission. These real men and women don't want a "wet behind the ears" little kid speaking for them, they are more than capable of speaking for themselves and they feel it would be an honor to give their life for us.....do you get that you selfish little shit? No you don't, you want to go to medical school because your mommy told you doctors make a lot of money. I get it, you read newspapers and claim to talk with people who have been to the middle east so you must be correct all of the time.

I'm selfish how? Because I support the troops by not wanting them to be killed? Is that how I'm selfish?

Going to med school, is that why I'm selfish? Am I selfish because I'll have to serve 4 years in the armed services (and probably 4 also in reserves) to pay for a medical education because my family isn't able to give me 70k a year?
