Anyone needs to recall that the people who caused the downturn--academics and professionals, for the most part--have a major disconnect from even any real life, near where they are located.

The traditional leadership out of recession is temp-help. In this one, it has been closely followed by leisure and recreation industry enployment. Many have not participated in the end of poverty, which are the stock market gains. Spending on discretionaries is too easily said to have not been much affected, by it all.

1099, and newly self-employed persons, are easily in the household survey. That is not entirely "people dropping out of the labor market." The Labor Department was offering the similar explanation, earlier in the day.

Everyone else maybe were stuck in Cairo, or maybe on their "Road To Cairo." The Prophet's upper middle class has been spending their two weeks, completely oblivious to the absence of the poor folk, who are not joining their own new recreational, use of. . .time.
