BRUSSELS, (PIC)-- The European campaign to end the Siege on Gaza announced Monday that Freedom Flotilla 2 will be delayed until late September or early October due to expansion in participation from European countries.

The campaign noted that the fleet will have extensive media coverage at an unprecedented level, given the number of vessels and the 9,000 and counting international activists from around the world who have requested to participate in the mission.

On 25 November 1940 the Patria, a French-built ocean liner, sank in Haifa harbour after a bomb carried covertly on board exploded, killing 260 people,[1] and injuring another 172. At the time of the sinking, the Patria was carrying around 1,800 Jewish refugees from Nazi-occupied Europe who were being deported by the British to Mauritius, because they did not possess entry permits. The deportation was opposed by Zionist organisations including the underground paramilitary Haganah group, which planted a bomb with the intention of disabling the ship to prevent it from leaving Haifa. However, the Haganah miscalculated the effects of the explosion and the bomb caused the ship to sink in under fifteen minutes, trapping hundreds in the hold. The survivors were subsequently permitted to remain in Palestine on humanitarian grounds. Who was responsible and the true reason why the Patria sank remained controversial mysteries until 1957, when Monya Mardor, the person who placed the bomb,

Correction. Israel should place a permanent shipping hazard off Gaza, maybe an iceberg.

It is good to see people doing what their governments fail to do.

You mean fail worse?

Not so.

Free Gaza started a few years ago with one small boat and a handful of people. The last one was 7 vessels and over 700 people. The one in the works now is planned for 9000 people. The land convoys are increasing in number also.

Every time Israel, or its paid off buddies in Egypt, screw an aid shipment it is shooting itself in the foot.

The goal is to break the siege and they seem to be well on their way.

GAZA, (PIC)-- The Palestinian international campaign to end the siege on Gaza on Thursday welcomed the preparations for sending the biggest ever fleet of aid ships to the Gaza Strip.

The campaign in a statement hailed the efforts of Arab and foreign solidarity activists in preparing for the fleet despite the Israeli occupation authority's threats and aggressive practices.

It noted that solidarity activists and institutions in Canada, the USA, Europe, and Arab countries are preparing for sending huge relief assistance aboard this fleet.

Those activists affirm their backing for the Palestinian people's just demands in ending blockade on Gaza and opening all crossings before traffic of goods and individuals both ways, the campaign said.

I think Israel should torpedo the next ship that tries to run the legal blockade.
