Today's Rasmussen addition paints a very clear picture of the growing animosity from Americans regarding the nation's current tax n spend direction...

-81% believe middle class tax cuts should be included in this year's budget - contradicting the current reports that the Democrat Congress is eliminating those earlier proposed tax cuts.

-66% believe Obama will try and raise taxes on those earning less than $250,000 per year.

-64% consider taxes to be a very important issue.

-Nearly half believe they pay more than their fair share in taxes.

-Nearly 60% agree with the Reagan view that "government is not the solution to our problems; government is the problem."

lol, this blows TM's thread out of the water....

i love how easy polls are to manipulate

Yes, and TM was so very proud of that little thread.

Alas, even those Americans paying no taxes wish to pay fewer taxes...

The problem is, they also want a Nanny State. Which is how we got into this mess in the first place. They want Nanny, but they don't want to pay.

I liked the Nanny - and would have been willing to pay a pretty penny for her services...

The citizenry needs to pay down debt and avoid future personal deficit spending to the extent possible. If we leave things alone, this will happen by itself.

If we want people to spend more now, they first need to know their job is relatively secure. Not the case at the moment. If we want to accelerate debt pay-down as a prelude to increased spending, people need more money to do that with.

Equals lower taxes on individuals and businesses. Review The Prophet's big social ideas after this is fixed. Do nothing to increase taxes on individuals and businesses.

It is hard to imagine the citizenry finding anything particularly pertinent to fixing their personal circumstance within what has been thus far proposed by The Prophet's administration. And the 98% will get a tax cut bromide is almost pure manipulation.

Hmm, nearly half believe they pay more than their fair share? Those must be the ones who actually pay taxes.

Did you see this from Reagan's Grace Commission?

one-third of all income taxes is consumed by waste and inefficiency in the Federal Government, and another one-third escapes collection due to the underground economy. "With two-thirds of everyone's personal income taxes wasted or not collected, 100 percent of what is collected is absorbed solely by interest on the Federal debt and by Federal Government contributions to transfer payments. In other words, all individual income tax revenues are gone before one nickel is spent on the services which taxpayers expect from their Government.
