8 of 10 Illegals Caught Are Not Prosecuted

More than eight out of ten illegal aliens apprehended by the United States Border Patrol are not prosecuted. They are simply let go.
These shocking (well, not so shocking) statistics come from Congressman John Culberson, who submitted these statistics for the record during a House subcommittee meeting on homeland security. Culberson stated, quite rationally, that it is going to be impossible to stop illegal immigration, drug smuggling, and other nefarious activities if those involved face no criminal penalties. He urged that Operation Streamline, which fast tacks prosecutions and deportations of illegal immigrants, should be applied across the entire border.
Of course, the head of the Customs and Border Protection agency disagreed, stating that there were "a lot of variables," including the inability of judicial systems along the border to handle any increased load in prosecutions. How vastly expensive court hearings are required for non-citizens that are caught trying to cross the border was not explained. Why we even bother having a Border Patrol if they aren't allowed to do their job was also not explained.

Why do idiots actually quote right wing sites as fact? I am still laughing from the one that said illegals are on welfare.

You guys are idiots. You really are. You just throw crap out there and actually expect people to believe you.

Ya Zonas right, there probably is'nt even any illegals in America, it's all a scam

So what? Prosecuting people for crossing the border is a waste of time. Maximum prison for first time is 6 months and for every other time it's 2 years, the trial would probably last longer than the time served. And as it has already been said, we're talking about prosecuting upwards of 10 million people (if the ultra-nationalists had their way), the vast majority of whom haven't done a single illegal thing since they crossed the border and who are furthermore keeping a good chunk of your industries afloat by working dirt cheap (Hurray Capitalism!).

In any which case, you don't need the police to prosecute or deport illegal Mexicans anyway, you don't even need lengthier prison sentences or more surveillance or any of that expensive stuff. You just have to let the big-shot bankers do their jobs of running your economy to the ground. Already almost 2 million illegals have left since 2007 because there's no jobs. Thanks, Wall Street!

Blaming the innocent capitalist for Mexico's invasion of the United States?

Er, no, quite the opposite. I'm congratulating the Banking sector for solving illegal immigration - if there is no economy, there are no jobs, and if there's no jobs, there's no point in making the brutal journey across the border. Everybody wins!

But a war against Mexico is a win-win for the American economy. It will make every Mexican illegal in the US the enemy and subject to removal and even to be held as a prisoner of war. JOBS FOR AMERICANS

Any American who attempts to help them can be held as a traitor.

The war will bring manufacturing jobs back to the US.

It will also ruin the drug market as anyone caught with drugs will be a suspected collaborator and subject to the rules of war.

War with Mexico would clean up the United States and put a REAL border up that would keep out the third world for decades to come.

We will never stop illegal immigration if we do not enforce our immigration laws. Local officials do only if they want to, some are prosecuted and deported, some are just released. Some border patrols are busting their butts chasing them in the desert and some are letting them through. Then there are states like Utah, Calif and GA that is working against enforcing our immigration laws. If we are not on the same page all our efforts of in vain. Waste of time and money. There has to be mandatory enforcement and mandatory E-Verify that apply to all states.
