"No doubt Obama's definition for the "disabled" is "anyone who will vote for him" which is true, because you have to be mentally disabled having a death wish for your country to vote for someone who hates it to the extent of wanting to destroy it from within!"

In short, Obama will not be satisfied until he disables the entire country from fighting his tyrany in being perfectly happy being taken care of on his all encompassing government dole as our freedom evaporates like water coming to a slow boil!"-----stlouisix

(CNSNews.com) - The Social Security Administration has released new data revealing that 8,786,049 American workers are collecting federal disability insurance payments in September. That sets yet another record for the number of Americans on disability.

The 8,786,049 workers taking federal disability in September is a net increase of 18,108 from the 8,767,941 workers who took federal disability in August.

Over the past 45 years, the number of American workers taking federal disability payments has increased four-fold relative to the number actually working.

In August 1967, 74,767,000 Americans were working (according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics) and 1,152,861 were taking federal disability insurance (according to the Social Security Administration). That means that at that time there were about 65 Americans working for each worker collecting disability.

In August 2012, 142,101,000 Americans were working and 8,767,941 were on disability--meaning there were only 16.2 people working for each person collecting disability.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), a record 88,921,000 Americans were “not in the labor force” in August. These were Americans who were at least 16 years old, who were not in the military or in an institution such as a prison or a nursing home, and who did not have a job and had not actively sought one in the last four weeks.

Also in August, according to the BLS, only 63.5 percent of the civilian population (those over 16, who were not in the military or in an institution) participated in the labor force. That was the lowest level of labor force participation in 31 years. To participate in the labor force a person must either have a job or at least be actively trying to find one.

Well if you are disabled then you should get help. Big to do. My father in law was disabled since he was 33 years old. He got hurt at work. WOrking for some boss who didnt care if he got hurt. So in my eyes he was entitled to every penny he got from disability. And he enjoyed his weeks at hunting camp.

Yep, Every time I see the commercial with lawyers telling you they can get your disability .. Now that depression and drug abuse you can get it now too.. These lawyers are making a killing off our tax dollars. I am not saying everyone on it is is a cheat but I bet now a days there is quite a few.. I have said it before I have people in my OWN family that are cheating the system and have been for years. I have even called on them. The people on the other line dont give a crap. My sons friend who used to work for medicaid said they had a quota on how many people to sign up in a week if they didnt make that quota they got in trouble. This was in Michigan..
In the schools here if you dont fill out the free lunch paper work your child gets in trouble. Even though we never qualify but you still have to fill it out. In Texas the teachers would tell the military kids to have their parents not count their housing allowance so that most all military would get free lunches even though most did not qualify with the housing money..
