Here’s why most Americans can’t join the military

The U.S. Army's major enlistment requirements include:

  • Ages between 17 and 34 years old
  • Must be U.S. citizen or legal foreign national
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 33 score on Armed Forces Qualification Test
  • No tattoos on fingers, neck or face
  • No ear gauges
  • No ADHD medication win the past 12 months
  • No felony convictions
  • No persistent illegal drug use
  • No insulin-dependent diabetes
  • Meet height & weight requirements

The biggest single reason for failing to meet the requirements is obesity.

The majority of Republicans say colleges are bad for America (yes, really)

Survey Finds 73 Percent Support Investments to Improve Health

In October, the country finds out how many millions of Americans will lose their healthcare after Republicans ended the subsidies which make healthcare affordable for tens of millions of Trump voters.

Republicans insist they aren't against education, just the the kind of education that makes independent thinkers.

They aren't against healthy eating, just against children not given a choice to eat sugar cakes, sweet soda pop and candy for lunch.

Obviously, there are only two ways to keep a viable military.

1. Reinstate the draft.

2. Recruit immigrants.

Extend boot from 6 to 12 weeks, with the first three weeks cardio and strength training.

Draft yes.

Immigrants only with deep screening. Citizenship offer following service is fine.

First, you can sweat anyone into shape.

Second, 1% is over 3 million people.

good point on the numbers
we had a ''fat body'' in boot camp...he trimmed down after 3 months
he was on half rations
the big difference is he volunteered/wanted to be a Marine
it would not be easy to trim down non-volunteers
I'm considering during the draft back when there were less obese drafters

you are forgetting the most important requirements:
discipline/mental will
it's not that easy --that's why there are so many obese people

No, I'm not. Your drill Sargent should be supplying motivation in adequate amounts.

..we had a ''fat body'' platoon for those who couldn't make it in their original
..even the ones who lost weight were still behind the others
..sure--it's possible--but it won't be easy
they have to change their eating habits/food/etc
they have to change from being lazy fatass to workout badass
in a ''small'/certain amount of time
..no matter how much the DI yells, it is still physically impossible for the fat body draftee to do as much as the non-fat body draftees
..no matter how much the DI yells, this is not a guarantee that the draftee mentality will change
..we had non fatties who didn't make boot camp--
this is not easy

And 25% if 3 million people is 750,000 of people who might want to be in the military and who meet the requirements.

The US has 1.2 million active and 800,000 in reserve. Hmm... problem.
