72% of American favor the Buffett Rule

The initial investment (100k) probably has been taxed.

Oh, look at that! Some light managed to penetrate the darkness! Then, when instead of stuffing it under the mattress it is returned to the economy to create more growth it gets taxed again. That's the way to encourage more growth ----- oh wait, no it isn't.

Why don't you fuckers just drop the pretense and start wearing black ski masks?

The initial 100,000 is not being 're-taxed'. The tax is the other 100,000. The profit. Why is that so hard for you to understand?

Try reading again and concentrating reeeeeeeeeaaaaaal hard.

If the top 1% paid 100% tax it wouldn't scratch the surface on our national debt...would barely cause a small blip on the debt clock.

The Buffet rule would raise far less then 1% of Obama's deficit spending. He wants it for two reasons:

1) To divert attention from his abysmal record.

2) To further his class warfare agenda.

To your point it's not even a dent, but it's taking the specific money that goes to create jobs. He is a true ideologue.
No Obama wants the buffet rule passed because he believes that the rich should AT least pay the same tax rates as those in poverty.

How much do those in poverty pay in federal taxes? Are you talking about the ones who get wealth redistribution through Earned Income Credit? Your really a confusing person, Starzzzz.

They conveniently forget that 49+% of the population pay no Fed taxes at all.

They expect those that do to carry the freight for all.

I expect that the freight carriers are getting rather tired of pulling that wagon by now.

1.184trillion is about 33% of the total FED budget dumbass.
Furhtermore Bsuh left Obama a 1.5trillion deficit which Obama has turned into a 1.4 deficit. Also Bush started with a 200billion surplus

1.184 spread out over ten years would then make it about how much of the FED budget there junior. Only we are talking deficit.

Yes, and your school is going to flunk you again....so what has that got to do with anything.
It is hard to understand what you are saying given that your grammar is lower than 3rd grade level. Otheriwse it is clear that you are saying that reducing the deficit doesn't reduce the deficit because the deficit is big; meaning you are a dumbass

Run home to mama, junior.

It is obvious that your lessons on talking out your ass have been successful.

You brought in the budget and somehow got that confused with the deficit.

That or your advanced lessons on looking like a moron have been well worth the money.

Washington (CNN) - Hours before a crucial Senate vote over the so-called "Buffett Rule," a new national poll indicates that nearly three-quarters of Americans support the measure to require people earning $1 million a year or more to pay at least 30% in taxes.

According to a CNN/ORC International survey, 72% favor the bill, which is named for billionaire investor Warren Buffett, who has argued that it's unfair that he pays a lower tax rate than his secretary. Twenty-seven percent oppose the measure.

Because obamaturd lied to them, again, and they believed it. The buffett rule is nothing but a dimwit deception.

Just goes to show that seven out of ten respondents are dumb enough to think that millionaires and billionaires are going to just sit still and let themselves be taxed to that degree.

That sound you're hearing is capital fleeing the country. :scared1:

Just about everyone favors raising someone else's taxes but not their own.

Only right wing ideologues want to fund tax cuts for those with most discretionary income, and strap our kids and grandkids with the debt.

This meme is running on empty.

Deficits are only created when you spend what you don't have. The 'Buffet Rule' Obama pushes is weak demagoguery which does nothing to close deficits.

Only way to close deficits is to stop spending what we don't have.

Prepare to give up some of your freebies and get a job.

Fairness is not demagoguery. The majority of Americans don't have the luxury of setting up off-shore accounts, and understand that those with the most discretionary income ought not be paying lower taxes than the rest of us.

Fairness is a left wing wet dream.

Nowhere are you promised fair. Sorry.

The majority of Americans either don't understand the system or do fully realize that this is nothing but class warfare.

Do you have some kind of point? Your sentence is unreadable. The fact remains that the Bush tax cut to those with the most discretionary income was funded with debt.

When those with the most discretionary income are able to use things like off-shore accounts to wind up paying lower tax rates on income than their secretaries, fairness is an issue to most Americans.

My apologies, I thought you were a little more advanced than that.

Your comment about right wing ideologues is simply stupid. Nobody gets up in the morning and says, I want to screw future generations (well Obama may be an exception). They do get up and say, we are not funding more government horsecrap directed by the losers we call congress. And we do believe that tax cuts help stimulate the economy. And since we are not as prone to envy as you are, we really don't care how they do.....we only care how we do.

You will not find me in GWB's fan club. Yes, it was funded with debt. And so were the wars. He will be seen in history as being ALMOST as bad as Obama.

Well DICK,

It is unfortunate that you don't know the difference.

When those with the most discretionary income are able to shield that income, it is because congress allows them to. Dems and GOP alike are all losers at the federal level (well, most).

Fairness has nothing to do with it. The shield their income because they can.

Fairness can never be defined in a way that makes any useful sense in the political world.

You get what you get.

It's a good thing they won't try to avoid this new tax like they do all the other ones.

Oh, wait ...

What the hell is this FAIRNESS crap?? Who says anyone has to be FAIR?

You get where you are in life with hard work and get up and go.

We all know that some of the rich in this country inheritied their wealth but I think there are many more who EARNED their wealth.

Why should they pay more because they had the smarts, determination and drive to make money??

You want social justice then move to Cuba or Venzuela. You can all share the same tarpaper shack and thank Daddy Fidel and Uncle Hugo for everything you get.

Just think. You can all be social equals and live in that wonderful utopia. You won't have to bust your ass because you'll get the same as the guy that doesn't.

the democrats use such a strectch to make their case and they kjnow their loiyal supportes will say..."yeah, how is that fair....."

Such as ..

Is it fair that a multi billionaire pays a lower tax rate than a truck driver in rhode island"

Well.....one must ask why they use that kind oif example? Why such a stretch? Are they trying toi "fool" their supporters?

Why dont they say this....

Is it fair that a man or woman who risked his/her entire savings to start a business and has hired 50 people while working 12 hour days for 15 years without a vacation and finally makes his first million has to pay a higher rate in taxes than a man who deicded that he preferred to not risk anything and only have to work 8 hour days and get his 6 sick days and 2 weeks vacation and floating holidays and only made 45K

Why dont they ask valid questions?

And when Democrats describe someone who makes $400K a year simply as a "secretary," you know that being "fair" has nothing to do with their objective in any way.
