BREAKING NEWS: Seventy-Two Killed Resisting Gun Confiscation In Maryland.

National Guard units seeking to confiscate a cache of recently banned assault weapons were ambushed by elements of a Para-military extremist faction. Military and law enforcement sources estimate that 72 were killed and more than 200 injured before government forces were compelled to withdraw.

Speaking after the clash, Massachusetts Governor Thomas Gage declared that the extremist faction, which was made up of local citizens, has links to the radical right-wing tax protest movement.

Gage blamed the extremists for recent incidents of vandalism directed against internal revenue offices. The governor, who described the group’s organizers as “criminals,” issued an executive order authorizing the summary arrest of any individual who has interfered with the government’s efforts to secure law and order.

The military raid on the extremist arsenal followed wide-spread refusal by the local citizenry to turn over recently outlawed assault weapons.

Gage issued a ban on military-style assault weapons and ammunition earlier in the week. This decision followed a meeting in early this month between government and military leaders at which the governor authorized the forcible confiscation of illegal arms.

One government official, speaking on condition of anonymity, pointed out that “none of these people would have been killed had the extremists obeyed the law and turned over their weapons voluntarily.”

Government troops initially succeeded in confiscating a large supply of outlawed weapons and ammunition. However, troops attempting to seize arms and ammunition in Lexington met with resistance from heavily-armed extremists who had been tipped off regarding the government’s plans.

During a tense standoff in the Lexington town park, National Guard Colonel Francis Smith, commander of the government operation, ordered the armed group to surrender and return to their homes. The impasse was broken by a single shot, which was reportedly fired by one of the right-wing extremists.

Eight civilians were killed in the ensuing exchange.

Ironically, the local citizenry blamed government forces rather than the extremists for the civilian deaths. Before order could be restored, armed citizens from surrounding areas had descended upon the guard units. Colonel Smith, finding his forces over matched by the armed mob, ordered a retreat.

Governor Gage has called upon citizens to support the state/national joint task force in its effort to restore law and order. The governor also demanded the surrender of those responsible for planning and leading the attack against the government troops.

Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, and John Hancock, who have been identified as “ringleaders” of the extremist faction, remain at large.

And this fellow Americans, is how the American Revolution began, April 20, 1775.

History. Study it, or repeat it.

I imagine that it wouldn't go this way today. America has lost most of its backbone in the past 250 years or so.

Regardless, it is a lesson for gun grabbers to take to heart. Regardless of your deciet, even if you manage to get control of government, you'll never get the guns.

Ever.

This is suppose to be in humor, it has nothing to do with politics..
In fact, it does. It deals with the main topic under discussion in this country right now. Government wanting to reduce or eliminate our Second Amendment rights.

Perhaps I should not have used the word satire.

The govt. will not take away your guns if "you" do not let them,,,see how that works....
The exact point of the post. Thanks for clarifying the obvious.

They won't take them.

didn't we kick this around the other day and as usual, no post like this ever changes a mind, just makes people who already hate each other have something to bitch at each other about that given day.

You may have, I didn't. Besides, I don't hate anyone here. I just disagree with a number of them.

well no it was in here. all good, just felt a touch of deja vu.

with you on the hate part. i don't hate anyone, i just tire of their antics like many probably tire of my own. i slide most to ignore vs. it becoming an issue because i know from experience they have nothing to offer but low grade trolling in a mosquito pond, or there's just zero hope of finding a middle ground to build off of. the only thing i hate is ironically all the hate. :) but it is on display daily.

to the post - the facts were tossed around, locations changed and the like but in the end anyone who's anti-gun will just find a way to make sure they can discredit the thought behind this.

i think it was the new guy DamnDude who made a great point yesterday in that the 2nd amendment has nothing to do with hunting as many will say YOU DON'T HUNT WITH AN AR!!!! which is 1, dead wrong people do it all the time, 2, bolt actions are more accurate; which he guffad with 21 years of army experience and many deployments behind him, 3. ARs are never used for home defense in which he said as many have, it's preference, pure and simple and 4, it's all about protection from govs foreign and domestic.

so far in the civil war we are now engaged in the left are the ones who've taken guns to the right on softball fields and such. i don't know of the right doing it much but it's coming.

and when it does it won't stop til it's over because it simply means the right has been pushed to the FUCK YOU point by the left. it doesn't matter the left keeps saying they're right and the world is full of nazis, good people will only take that for so long before a long overdue SHUT THE FUCK UP comes along and the left doesn't shut up easily, so buckle up.

i got seasoned salt for my popcorn and am ready.

In reality, our own National Guard and local police would not participate in such a mistake. They and their families live in the same neighborhood.

Their lives wouldn't be worth spit.

Not a threat of any kind, just a thought.

Wow.

I gave attribution to the person from who I read it. If you can't figure out this was nothing more than an embellishment of historical events using modern language, I can't help you.

I suggest you look at post 17.
