You said she "took over" in 2006. She didn't "take over" until she was sworn in. You also said she won Speaker of the House in 2006, but that also didn't happen until she was sworn in. Though the election was in November, 2006, not a single Democrat "took over" until they were sworn in. Pelosi wasn't elected Speaker of the House until she was sworn in and Reid didn't control the Senate until he was sworn in and elected Senate Majority Leader.
