How many more straw polls does Ron Paul have to win by a landslide or lose by the most narrow margins before naming someone like Rick Perry the front runner just gets you laughed at?

LOS ANGELES – Minutes ago in front of the California Republican Party convention delegation at the JW Marriott at L.A. Live, CRP Chairman Tom Del Beccaro announced Congressman Ron Paul as the winner of the 2011 California Straw Poll.

A full breakdown of the results is copied below. A total of 833 ballots were cast during the 2011 Straw Poll which included a write-in opportunity for the first time.

The 2011 California Straw Poll was held on Saturday, September 17th between 9:00AM – 5:00PM, where CRP members, associate members, and registered guests were allowed to choose their favorite from among the 11 official Republican presidential candidates.

2011 Straw Poll Full Results (Votes, %)

Congressman Ron Paul (374, 44.9%)

Governor Rick Perry (244, 29.3%)

Mitt Romney (74, 8.8%)

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (64, 7.7%)

Jon Huntsman (17, 2.0%)

Herman Cain (15, 1.8%)

Newt Gingrich (14, 1.7%)

Thad McCotter (7, 0.8%)

Rick Santorum (7, 0.8%)

Gary Johnson (2, 0.2%)

Fred Karger (1, 0.1%)

Write-ins (15, 1.8%)

BTW, Ron Paul money bomb raised over a million dollars on constitution day without the help of the media or corporate promises. Sick of government down your back and in your wallet?? Its time to join the revolution.

Paul has not a snowballs chance in hell of winning the Repub nomination.

If even a lunkhead like you understands that then it absolutely must be the case.
Paul has never won an election outside of his own district. And the more people hear him, the less they like him.

Romney and Perry are the frontrunners. Paul has only the slimmest of chances of capturing the nomination.

Paul is doing quite respectably in the polls (as well as some other metrics, which you mention) but in the end, one cannot become the nominee without capturing a large fraction of delegates. In 2008, a very fragmented year, McCain captured over 72% of delegates. Paul has very enthusiastic supporters, but he has little chance of expanding his appeal to the point where most Republican primary voters have him as their first choice.

You guys on this board keep parroting that, but Ron Paul just keeps winning. Debates, straw polls, online polls, military donations, independant voters, he is number 1 agianst Obama.

Thats right suckers the propaganda doesnt work anymore. Its time to reject what we accept as normal, its time to question why were paying for this shitty corporate socialist oligarchy. Its time to stop the killing, the spending, the consumption, the corporate power, the fear, the lies, the centralized power, its all got to go.

Ron Paul for POTUS? No thank you.

Ron Paul for VP? No.

Ron Paul for Senate? Don't care, up to Texans.

Ron Paul for Congress? Sure, done and done.

Ron Paul for economic adviser? Hell yeah.

Ron Paul for chairman of the Fed? Things that make you go hmm.

Ron Paul doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell to win the nomination.

Its a good thing he has a moron son in the party, (who by the way has worst hair piece in Washington) that way he won't ruin the election and run as an independent, because he wouldn't want to kill his son's career.

I used to think he was a good watchdog, but now it's clear he's just a demented traitor.

Does the attitude of California Republicans reflect the attitude of GOPers in the rest of the nation?

If so, then RP has a chance.

But the RNC isn't, I think, really of the same mindset at California's Republicans.

And ultimately, therank and file Republicans may propose but the RNC disposes.

Considering he has either won, or lost by a less then 2% margin every straw poll to date I would say that he has attracted the mainstream.

What I think is funny is that his views are so patriotic that none can argue about his views, or his platform, instead he is framed as being 'unelectable', whatever the fuck that means.

Um, 50 times zero is still zero. And straw polls are zero. His meshuganah followers come out and swamp polls trying to convince people he can win.

I also don't consider it patriotic to blame this country for 9/11, or want to return us to a 3rd rate power on the ass end of the world.

Knowlage is power, people arent interested in rhetoric spouting hollow masters of marketing, and they arent interested in anymore war. Time to fire washington one failed branch at a time untill all thats left is bound within the confins of the constitution and the rule of law.
