63% of voters support Obama birth control policy

Does anyone bother to interrogate the actual data from the actual poll? Or are we just supposed to accept, without question, the 'results' as provided?

Anyone who does not interrogate a source before pronouncing its accuracy is.... well... for want of a better word... an idiot.
I tried. Can't find the original poll anywhere. Anyone have a link to this?
With less children being born and aborted, and our population getting older...I wonder who is going to PAY for that new Socialist Healthcare and all that free birth control?

Just so you understand this.

All insurance is "socialist."

So unless you are paying out of pocket for everything, YOU ARE A SOCIALIST.
Wow, you are a moron. Insurance is not socialist. I doubt that you understand why.

Obama plans to give amnesty to the illegal immigrants to pay for your FREE birth control..

You think you can't find a job now you stupid LEGAL Americans...you all deserve what's coming.
actually you can call that the free market. the person who is willing to the job for the lowest price typically is the one who gets the job in most applications. hmmmmmm guy 1 is willing to do job A for $20 an hour, guy 2 is willing to do the same job for $15 an hour. same qualifications, same skills, guy 2 gets the job. yay free market!

You are paying for someone else's health care.

And? Again, you shoe your ignorance of why it is not socialism. Let me give you a hint: the state does not own the insurance companies and you are able to enter or leave such a contract of your own free will. At least you were before Obama came along. That make a HUGE difference in what insurance is. Socialism does NOT equal spreading around cost. It equals communal ownership of the means of production and its fruits.

I doubt you are actually going to be honest here though.

Nearly two-thirds of Americans favor President Barack Obama’s policy requiring birth control coverage for female employees, including clear majorities of Roman Catholic, Protestant evangelical and independent voters, a poll showed on Thursday.

A Kaiser Family Foundation survey of 1,500 adults showed public opinion breaking more strongly according to party affiliation than gender on contraceptives, with 83 percent of Democrats, 62 percent of independents and 42 percent of Republicans favoring the policy.

Sixty-three percent of Americans overall supported it, according to the data.

Now go ask them how many will be voting based on this non-issue?

To some women it is an issue

Only the women too cheap to purchase their own $15 a month pills. I don't think religious organizations should be forced to provide it. I don't think there is a great need to have such a small expense covered. It's more about pushing ideology and feeding the entitlement mentality of a growing number of people in this country. Once a large portion of the population realizes that they can vote for the redistribution of wealth to themselves, our country will crumble.

Religious organizations don't provide anything, it's the insurance companies that pay for the pill. Religious organizations only ban their employees from electing that option. Churches and houses of worship are exempt from the law, by the way.

Also the "great need" with regards to the pill is that by providing it, it saves the insurance company (and the overall health care system) money by shielding the system against costly unintentional pregnancies.

They don't 'provide' it. It's covered in an insurance policy that is actually paid for by employees.

Why is this so hard for rightwing idiots to understand?

Why should all employees be forced to pay for the convenience of a few of them? And BTW, it's more expensive this way as insurance companies have to charge for overhead. And Clementine was dead on that it's ideology the left is really pushing here.

by your logic the many of us should then now pay for cancer treatments of the few, or seizure medications of the few.

You're one gullible moron aren't you??

Polls are meaningless...

One would have to poll like 30,000,000 people to even draw a reliable conclusion on a general consensus.

No, most findings by the groups who conduct polls are based on the opinions of 10,000 (or so, usually less) in a general region.

Realistically anyone could do a poll in an attempt to deceive the public by selecting a target demographic.

Polls don't hold any water...

Actually, Kaz, it's cheaper for an insurance company to offer the pill, as it will reduce the number of unwanted, unintentional pregnancies that the insurance company will have to cover if the sexually active female gets pregnant.

Including contraception is a cost saving measure, and this is important to know. It's not going to make premiums go up, as you suggest. Remember, a woman on the pill is much cheaper for an insurance pool than a woman having a baby (ultrasound, hospital bills, complications like gestational diabetes, c-sections, ect).

However that said, I do sympathize with the viewpoint on the right, that the gov't forcibly removing the employer's right to ban contraception is a bit of an overreach of power.

Now, why people would actually want to ban contraceptive coverage if the insurance company offers it is beyond me....
