$62 TRILLION DEBT...Your cost?

True. The way to do it has nothing to do with politicians, political parties, elections, or anything of that sort. The United States needs to press the cosmic RESET button and go back to ground zero and start all over again. The only way for that to happen is through armed insurrection.

With the Blood of tyrants I'm afraid...Second Amendment made it so...

first off, armed insurrections have a snowball in h*ll chance of even forming before they're taken down, and secondly we can't to a blessed thing about our legislature due to citizens united

of coures, posters like me who have been lamenting the insidous infilration of fascism in America are branded 'lefties' , because we see where the status quo's been going with this for years here

so i tend to have less than a symapthetic tone for those who have done so AND YET COME TO THE SAME END RESULT CONCLUSION!

The government added $5.3 trillion in new financial obligations in 2010, largely for retirement programs such as Medicare and Social Security. That brings to a record $61.6 trillion the total of financial promises not paid for.
First off, we need to either Nationalize or get rid of The Federal Reserve. While they're printing money for banks all over the world and lying to us about it, we can't recover.

Austerity measures for US citizens (benefit cuts) so the bankers can keep their profits will only make Americans poor and the Bankers rich.

sparky, assuming you're correct this country no longer has any more value than any other place in the world and humanity has lost its last opportunity to turn itself around and become a species worthy of continuing to exist. If you're right, humanity has become nothing more than a species of 2 legged cockroaches.

fwiw, it gives me no pleasure saying it Anach, i guess everyone has their freedom-o-meter , but mine has a bent needle from being a bit player , and witness to one legislative act after the next empowering those deputized to mitigate a nation emergency, or worse, what is construed as one

we've literally pissed our rights in such scenario's away here, all under the guise of being 'safe'

even if you can't see my point of view, put it this way, every 3rd party is painted looney tunes here, just imagine them armed.....

Citizens United is nothing more than an excuse for American voters to be lazy.

sparky, you have to remember that in my mind Freedom and Liberty are PRIVILEGES, not rights. They are EARNED by proving one is willing and able to live within the acceptable limitations of society. The American Experiment was the last opportunity for that genre of ideology to be tried. The Founders screwed it by by naively believing in the "inherent goodness of man" and providing those things as Rights instead of as Privileges. Now the American Citizenry has lost all of its interest and even vague willingness to try and live inside of any morality and values that are not strictly enforced and whose violation is not brutally punished.

America WAS the last hope for humanity to prove it could live decently WITHOUT the need of an overarching government. We fucked it up. Now we need to be punished for it and put back in our place as an example to the rest of the world.

ARTICLE

There are 18,000 babyboomers entering social security/medicare DAILY and this will continue for the next 15 years--resulting in the 64 trillion in unfunded liabilities.

This results in $534,000.00 per household in America to pay this debt. Sorry Libs--there isn't enough wealth to confiscate in this entire world to pay this tab.

14.3 trillion now--and another 64 trillion in unfunded liabilites.

Currently--18,000 baby boomers are entering social security/medicare DAILY which will continue for the next 15 years. USA Today reports that this results in another 62 TRILLION in unfunded liabilities--or the equivalent of $534,000.00 owed per household in the United States.

So while we have congress up in Washington D.C. dickering about which programs should be cut--the largest are--social security and medicare which make up 40% of the entire federal budget.

It is clear there is not enough wealth in this country to confiscate--to pay this bill. We have republican Paul Ryan's proposal--and nothing else. Democrats are avoiding this issue as if it were the black plague--and just continue with the sniping of Ryan's. proposal.

So we are listening to the typical rhetoric coming from the left--that we're going to throw Grandma under the bus and then run over her 500 times. Clearly-we need to get very serious about this issue--because right before our eyes we are watching an imminent oncoming train wreck.

Ever wonder what a trillion dollars looks like?

$1 billion dollars.jpg

The above is one billion dollars ($100.00 bills stacked together on pallets.)

$trillion dollars.jpg

One trillion dollars--notice how small the man is on the lower left corner--($100.00 bills stacked together on pallets.)

1 trillion dollars ($100.00 bills stacked on palets) x 14.3 trillion in red ink now--and another oncoming 61 trillion in unfunded liabilities. It's not hard to see that there isn't enough wealth in this country to confiscate--to pay this tab. Yet conservatives and the tea party movement in this country are laughed at.

Ryan's budget doesn't go far enough. There is no reason we can't balance the budget this year.

People paid into social security and medicare all their working lives, and now the government, in their wisdom, wants to cut it. Why? because they never took that money and invested it, they took it and spent it, so they don't have it to pay out now. All I know is when it does all blow up in their faces, it will be the biggest depression in history and we will finally have that revolution I've been talking about.

Not so. It can be done by an informed citizenry voting.
