What I like to point out first is that 2 of the 6 are "White" countries and one of the white countries has a large black minority. This kind of defeats Tank and Willian Joyce's theory of the racial inferiority of Blacks and Browns. Blacks and Browns shouldn't be given a free pass. Here are the corners of the world that are thriving while the world is in shambles!
(1) Canada - We could learn a lot from our neighbors in the North, although I think their VAST amount of oil reserves and exports of it contribute alot to their success. Not to mention they don't spend (or need to spend) a lot in defense because of their big brother to the South!
(2) Austriallia - Has a large black population, but they always seem to do well.
(3) Colombia - The most capitalistic country in all of Latin America! Surprising not part of CAFTA (so no Free Trade with America). Nevertheless, unlike Hugo Fat Ass with his black crack, Colombia has done well because of its capitalism policies!
(4) Singapore - A western styled industrialize Asian country. No one is shocked or should be.
(5) Peru - Another very capitalistic Latin American country. They are another antiHugo Fatass country, meaning they true to the proven capitalism and not to the failure of socialism!
(6) Uganda - I was shocked, but reading about them, they seem to be doing well ever seen they kicked out their Muslim Tyranical Leader!

I think that is a baseless conspiracy theory. The Asia sewer system was not up to par with the West system, nevertheless in academia they have done alright (esp in the West)!

True, but the again there are large countries with relatively small populations for the country that constantly struggle like Libya, Afghanistan, Sudan, Algeria, Argentina etc.

It takes more than just having a larger country and manageable population. HOWEVER, to have a super power or top GDP you need a large country and population!

The simpleton says that Blacks are intellectual inferior. They say we are species of apes. Gorilla are stronger then Chimpanzees. However, Chimps are much smarter!

However, people not looking for the quick answer (such as me) see the short comings of the Brown and Black community and country are not because of racial inferiority, but rather the culture they have brought up on. The Jewish family for example praise academia over everything. The Irish family values being useful with your hands. Black and Latino families in general don't praise academia like they should. It has nothing to do with their racial make up it has to do with their culture. All they have to blame is themselves!

i'm not sure what the significance of these countries is.

iceland sure has a small population, but i'd say they were hardest hit by the crisis of any nation and dont have the development in their economy to constitute significant activity independent of their financial sector. despite all of that, they're not doing all that bad.

japan is one of those population-centric economies, packing twice the heads as canada, australia and singapore combined and the only other (besides the US) top ten nation in terms of population to have achieved real pervasive development... an aging population to boot.

Interesting post, but I fail to see a cause and effect relationship between short term economic performance in one of the most distorted periods in the last hundred years, and intelligence.

Voodoo economics and logic. I don't buy it. All the economies you site are resource based, and resources are in short supply. The observation can be explained in other ways. I don't buy it.
