$6.00 a gallon for gas in Florida

Of course not.
Obama Energy Pick Backs Higher Gas Tax - ABC News

ABC News’ Teddy Davis Reports: Barack Obama’s pick for Department of Energy secretary backs higher gasoline taxes, a position which puts him at odds with the president-elect.
"Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe," Steven Chu, the director of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, told the Wall Street Journal in September.

This man is Obama's Secretary of Energy.

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

Funny how you left this part out

"a position which puts him at odds with the president-elect. "

and this part

"Raising the federal gasoline tax, however, has been dismissed by Obama. "

Keep cherry picking though, from articles from before Obama was actually even in office. Sad really.
Obama doesn't have to raise the gasoline TAX. Just keep production down, kill thousands of jobs by not allowing the pipeline, keep buying from the Arabs...the price will continue to rise JUST LIKE THEY WANT IT T DO.

This is exactly why we need to give US taxpayer dollars to green technology CEO's pockets moments before the companies go bankrupt.

High gas prices at a Disney resort station? Shocking!

It's $3.56 for regular on the Florida Panhandle.

Intent? Have Proof?

Of course not.

The fact that the article was written in 2008 does not change the fact that Obama and his Secretary of Energy want the prices to rise. Dimwit!

Here's another for you.

Obama energy costs gas | Flashback: Obama's top energy aide advocated for $10-a-gallon gas prices | The Daily Caller

“President Obama has no credibility when it comes to energy policy and development of our domestic natural resources,” Tom Borelli of the Free Enterprise Project told The Daily Caller. “Obama’s record shows his administration is openly hostile toward our use of coal, oil and natural gas. Both President Obama and Energy Secretary Chu are delivering on their promises to increase the price of energy.”

Florida Drivers Shelling Out Nearly $6 A Gallon At Some Gas Stations « CBS Tampa

TAMPA (CBS Tampa) — Talk about pain at the pump! Some Florida drivers are spending nearly $6 a gallon to fill up their gas tanks.

According to GasBuddy.com, motorists are shelling out $5.89 for a gallon of regular gas at a Shell station in Lake Buena Vista, topping out at $5.99 a gallon for premium. It doesn’t get better at a Suncoast Energy station in Orlando, where drivers are paying $5.79 for a gallon of regular.

What GOOD NEWS for democrats. If this doesn't put a lock on obama's keeping his job, everyone is just racist. Democrats will tell you how high prices are good for the ecoonomy.

So.....when do they start drilling offshore??????

:eusa_eh:

Supply is up and demand is down.

Now what?

Oil is priced according to world supply and demand, so I would like to see evidence world supply is up and world demand is down. I would also like to see evidence of what Obama can do about it.

So you believe that the President was truly at odds with his pick for energy secretary as it pertains to the prices of energy?

Sure...on the outside, Obama will say that....but if he truly was at odds with that idea...why in hell would he appoint the man as energy secretary...or not dismiss him seeing as that is the primary scope of repsonsibility of the enrgy secretary.

I mean...it is like appointing someone as secretary of state who says "I want to start a world war"..and then sticking with that pick but saying "I dont agree with her"

As for not wanting to raise gas tax....he couldnt do it for he promised 95% of the people they would not see an increase in taxes.

Man...your partisanship has you not looking at things logically.

Wow, $6? That's extraordinarily high. But hey, it's 'Hope & Change' right? :cuckoo:

Only if you're sittin'-around, on your dead-ass....hoping things change.

Global oil demand is forecast to climb to 89.9 mb/d in 2012, a gain of 0.8 mb/d (or 0.9%) on the year. Growth has been curtailed by 0.3 mb/d versus January’s OMR, as the economic growth rate that underpins the global oil demand outlook has been reduced to 3.3% from 4.0% previously.

Non-OPEC supply fell by 0.2 mb/d to 53.2 mb/d in January, on lower global biofuels output, an escalation of conflict in Syria and between Sudan and South Sudan, and continuing outages in the North Sea. North American light tight oil production and NGLs, as well as increasing production in Latin America, offset declines elsewhere, supporting an expected 0.9 mb/d rebound in non-OPEC supply in 2012.

OPEC crude oil supply in January rose to 30.9 mb/d, the highest level since October 2008, on a steady ramp-up in Libyan production and sustained output from Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The ‘call on OPEC crude and stock change’ is cut by 100 kb/d for 2012, to 29.9 mb/d. OPEC’s ‘effective’ spare capacity is largely unchanged, at 2.82 mb/d.

Sorry, are you saying that the site doesn't work? I've used it with great success and accuracy across 2 states. Or is it because its data is politically inconvenient for the ManChildian Candyass that it's no longer relevant?

Good thing Obama is encouraging the Chinese to drill offshore.

Good thing
Yeah.....it's sounding like a lost-cause....expecting Floridians to get their (collective) lazy-asses, into-gear.

So you have no actual proof of intent. Just like I thought.

"Global oil demand is forecast to climb". That is the February oil market report.

Since oil futures are based on forecasts, then if everyone thinks the demand for oil is going to rise, then that will cause the price of oil futures to rise.

And since speculators now make up the majority of oil futures trading, we could be seeing a repeat of 2008 again.

Obama has about as much control over oil futures as Bush did. Blaming Obama for the price of oil is sheer ignorance.

There are actions which Congress can take to rein in speculation, but that would require the GOP to go along with it. That would get rid of the speculative factor in gas prices and then we would just be subject to the ordinary market forces of supply and demand.

The one thing we know politicians can do is get rid of oil specific taxes.

Neither party wants to do that, another reason why i support neither.
