58% Say Most Congress Members Won’t Know Stimulus Plan When They Vote On It

And why am I still paying my mortgage now that Obama has been elected, I thought he was going to take care of that

That will take at least 5 weeks in office to get to that point.

the problem is NO One has read the whole thing not even Obama so don't none of them know what they talkin' 'bout.

Pot (Republicans) meet kettle (USA PATRIOT Act - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

In one of the scenes of the movie, he records Congressman Jim McDermott alleging that no Senator read the bill[189] and John Conyers, Jr. as saying "We don't really read most of the bills. Do you know what that would entail if we read every bill that we passed?" Congressman Conyers then answers his own rhetorical question, asserting that if they did it would "slow down the legislative process".

Agreed, Democrats too didn't read the Patriot Acts as so many seemed convinced it meant something other than what it did.

Shouldn't their be a 'law' that members of Congress at least need to have a synopsis rendered by their staff and read?

Or just have laws that aren't 500-700 pages where it can be summed up in two sentences.

Though I agree there should be such a law, would make things better by far. Literally, I could of thrown in about 65% through the US Patriot Act about how Democracy is done with and nobody probably would of saw it.

Not to worry, ACORN wasn't mentioned in the bill. That was more of the spin from your right wing politicos in DC.

Vitter on tv after opposing the bill then said he needed the weekend to read it.

I find it hard to accept that so many of them don't read the fucking bills or at least have someone on their staff that they trust give them a good synopsis of these bills.

Indeed not mentioned. But will be included. Gotcha.

The new secretary of the treasury was suppose to announce that this administration was going to pay for our mortgages today. He basically didn't & said he would get back to us in a couple of weeks on that. That's why the stock market tanked. Down 384.

So hang in there! Hopefully, when the secretary of the treasury pays my mortage, I will also be able to head over to my local gas station for a tank of free gas. They're still in the process of arranging that also.

ACORN most certainly is in the bill:
House version Acorn gets 5.2 BILLION
Senate version Acorn gets 2.2 BILLION

So no matter which bill they approve Acorn gets BILLIONS. (That is a fact, it was all over HNN news tonight)

Barack Obama hasn't read this bill. He admitted yesterday that the House of Representative (aka Nancy Porklosi) is the author of the house version.

We just witnessed, today our new secretary of the treasury, showing that he has absolutely no clue on how to handle the remaining TARP bail-out. Basically he stated--many I don't knows, & I"ll get back to you in a couple of weeks. Now--this was just the banking bail-outs. Even as enempt as Barney Franks, he had to correct our supposed genius of the new secretary of the Treasury on a few explanations. Franks actually told the secretary of Treasury that the 350 billion that still exists wasn't enough. The stock market tanked 380 points on that one.

Imagine how our government will do with handeling 1.2 trillion in this so-called stimulus package that goes "everywhere". In fact, if one really thinks about it, it's almost laughable--if it wasn't so expensive. There will be so many "bridges to nowhere in it"--that it will take decades to figure it out.

That was one of the single worst performances for a national political figure in some time - and it came at at such a critical point for the nation, and the Obama administration.

You are right, the Treasurey Sec. looked absolutely clueless, very nervous, (almost wild-eyed at times) and certainly far from a calming influence. This the guy Obama defended despite serious tax issues because he is the best person for the job? This administration if fumbling terribly out of the gate and if they don't get it together, we are all going to be the worse off for it.

Yikes!

Huh? OH! Let me get back to you on that...maybe. Sorta. TARP! TARP! TARP!
