53% recent college grads unemployed

Ok, dug up some data...didn't know it was there...but as of July 2012, the not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for people age 16-24 with a Bachelors degree or higher was 11.3% in comparison to 17.1% for all people age 16-24.
A-16. Employment status of the civilian noninstitutional population 16 to 24 years of age by school enrollment, age, sex, race, Hispanic or Latino ethnicity, and educational attainment

So where did the 53% number come from?

Now, the numbers I gave were for ages 16-24. If you want to claim that adding in 25 and older, well, lets look at the math.

There are 2,615,000 people age 16-24 with a Bachelors or higher.
2,085,000 are employed, 265,000 unemployed (and 264,000 not working or looking for work) for a UE rate of 265,000/(2,085,000+265,000) = 11.3%

So how many would we need to add to get to 53%? (265,000+X)/(2,351,000+X) = .53
Solve for X and we get X = 2,087,298 And that's ONLY if ALL recent college grads 25 and older are unemployed. We'd have to add more to the denominator (lowering the rate) for all employed recent grads.

53% is ridiculous.
