507,533 Signatures Collected As Of Today

The Walker camp can't contest them untill they've been officially filed, but you can bet that Mickeys and Adolphs will be tossed....

They're gonna need a helluva lot more than 507k to survive all the toss outs...

Did you see the guy who admitted to signing a petition 80 times? Fuckin' hell-arious...

Oh I know. I was just wondering if Brett Farve would make the cut?

I'm sure he's signed it hundreds, if not thousands of times....;)

I draw the line at Joe Stalin....thats a little to close to home, you know?

Mickey Mouse’ OK for Walker recall

12/14/11 11:28 AM EST

Signatures of names like Mickey Mouse and Adolf Hitler are being considered valid on recall petitions of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker as long as they are properly dated, a government board indicated Tuesday.

Suspicious signatures will be noted, but reviewers on the Government Accountability Board will be looking primarily to see whether the signatures are accompanied by a Wisconsin address and signed during the appropriate time, according to WISN12.

“We will flag them, but we will not strike them without challenge,” said board elections specialist David Buerger, when asked whether Mickey Mouse’s signature could count. He added that in previous petitions, Hitler’s name was only struck because the address was in Germany, not due to the name itself.

Dude, put down the bottle and think...

There WILL be challenges to these signatures... Not all of them are legit...

Now go be fucking stupid somewhere else....

The hard RW hacks of USMB are doing overtime with their BS conjecture about "Micky Mouse" and "Adolph Hitler"

It's so much fun to watch them fail and flail.

The teachers were working, of course. Why pretend they weren't?

So Walker's strategy was to get the teachers to work longer hours for the same amount of money.

Has that ever happened to you at your job?

Yes, you?

Because of liberal policy, I have had to take on additional responsibilities with less pay in my employment.

40 hours is too much to ask?

You think teachers stop working when they leave school for the day? Teachers do plenty of school-related work at home, on their own time and on their own dime. They grade work, plan curriculum, and in some cases, spend their own money on supplies. Teachers are not the problem. CEOs have seen a 27% increase in pay. The rich are paying 15% capital gains tax. When are they going to be asked to sacrifice?

CEO's are not paid with taxpayer dollars. Unless you are talking GM, Fannie Mae, Freddy Mac...
This point is moot.

A recall petition is not an election. During the election cycle for the recalls, only 2 out of the 12 lost, if I recall correctly.

This is just petty and annoying. Kindergartners having a temper tantrum have more dignity.

It doesn't have to do with a temper tantrum, it has to do with Walker's corrupt connection with the Koch brothers and busting unions. What that bastard and his cronies tried to do was much more serious than a temper tantrum.

Voters in Ohio realize this. That bill was struck down by the people. This may have been a better course to take in Wisconsin but they had to do what they had to do.

Then you get why this is more than just a temper tantrum.

It's not an unusual or unique situation. However, when it happens, to want to negotiate those changes is not some heinous act.

Election? More like a Cross Burning or a Political Lynching. So who is the New Grand Dragon?

Wah....Wah.....

Just don't confuse what you are doing with Justice. :)

Thugs and Lynch Mobs aren't much to take pride in Sparky. :)

The thug is the Guv. And you can't be serious in calling this a lynch mob.

What he said.

So the minority over rules the majority?

That can't be allowed unless the minority is the GOP, can it?

It does not matter. If Walker gets recalled the replacement will just carry on as the public sector unions are up for combustion. Wisconsinites don't want pubic sector unions when they can save on taxes by hiring more affordable help. It's by-by unions no matter who gets elected into office.

all his points are moot.

By playing up the signatures that are inevitably disallowed on just about any petition, you're ignoring that those behind the recall are well on their way to getting enough signatures in a very short period of time.

The Tea Party governors-Walker, Scott, and Kasich-are not doing well as governors. They are plagued by public rejection of their policies and in the case of Walker and Scott, with problems with corruption. Tea Party politics in action-people don't like it.

So they've collected 507, 533 signatures as of today? Anyone want to hazard a guess as to how many union members there are in Wisconsin? It's over 720,000. Throw in a whole bunch of starry eyed college students for good measure and you've got the demographic that you're pulling your signatures from.

Here's the thing though, kiddies...Walker has erased a 3 billion dollar deficit in the two years he's been in office while not laying off teachers, firemen or cops and not raising taxes. So out of the two and a half million people who are employed in Wisconsin...how many of THEM do you think are looking at this recall effort and shaking their heads in disbelief? How many of THEM do you think are going to vote to replace Scott Walker so they can get another tax and spend liberal back in the State House to run up yet another huge deficit? Sorry but I can't see it happening. I don't care how many millions the national unions pour into Wisconsin and how many out of State union organizers they bring in to protest and get out the vote...I just can't see the people of Wisconsin who aren't in unions doing something as stupid as replacing Walker.

Now it this was California...then all bets would be off. Those folks out in Cali run a bit short on common sense...

Why don't you point out what Walker did that made him so likeable.
He denied barganing rights for teachers. And to top it off the police and fire persons came out and fought against Walker and protested with the teachers.

Walker is out for good. The reason your being taxed is because the Banks got Bailed out while the workers were Sold out and you believe in the status quo line of BS all the way to the grave.

What Walker "did" was try to put an end to the long established practice of public sector unions backing the election of public officials who then turned around and paid them back by giving out pay raises and lavish benefit packages that put the State deep in debt. The reason that even a liberal as far left as FDR was against collective bargaining for government workers is that he understood exactly the abuse that would lead to. What Walker did that made him so unpopular with public sector union folks erased a 3 billion dollar deficit he inherited. THAT is going to make him popular with the rest of the taxpayers in Wisconsin.

As for the bank bailouts? The banks paid us back. How did that "sell out" workers in any way? If you want to talk about money that HASN'T been paid back to taxpayers then let's talk about the bailouts of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Chrysler and GM. Those bailouts directly supported workers. Why is it you're not upset about them? Because they aren't the evil boogyman banks that someone's told you is responsible for all out problems these days?
