5 Republican Facts That Every American Should Be Mad About

1. Ronald Reagan was AWFUL.

The golden boy and savior of the Republican Party, Ronald Reagan , is often made out to be the best thing this country has had in our history. What you won’t hear on right-wing TV and radio like Fox News and Rush Limbaugh is that Reagan nearly tripled the national debt.

2. Universal Health Care could have happened in 1993.

In 1993 health care reform was all the rage. President Bill Clinton placed his wife, the First Lady Hillary Clinton, as the face of the program. Promising all Americans to finally receive the care that many other nations had, Hilary Clinton tried to drive this message home not just to average Americans but also spent plenty of time in Congress.

3. Medicare should be covering all of us by now, if LBJ had his way.

In 1965, when President Lyndon B. Johnson signed into law the Social Security Act of 1965 as add-ons to the existing Social Security bill, he had in mind full universal health care for all Americans.

4. ”Big” government is NOT the problem.

From moderates to extremists, every conservative can agree on one thing. Government is the enemy. From Ronald Reagan’s famous quote to the loud mouths on talk radio, the idea of Government in your life has been drilled into people’s heads as a negative. What most of these Americans don’t realize is how much they use and like a strong government.

5. The Bush Tax Cuts are even worse than you thought.

Continuing on with “Reaganomics”, George Bush enacted his “Bush Tax Cuts” in 2001 and 2003. According to the non-partisan Congressional Research Service, they estimated a loss in revenue over a 10 year period of just under $3 trillion. If you include the interest that needs to be paid, you can add another $606 billion, for a total of $3.6 trillion.

Opinion, move along now.

Sorry, I don't agree. Why do you want me to move along?? Do you feel threatened in some way???

No...

He rightfully pointed out to you the err of your post....they are not facts, they are opinion...and seeing as the title of your thread refers to them as facts, it compromises the integrity of your post and makes your post not worthy of debate....simply worthy of the subsequent criticism you received.

If you wanted an honest debate about the items you listed, you would have properly referred to them as opinions.

I think these are facts. You don't because they paint conservatives in a bad light. And you're the idiot. Always have been and always will be.

Facts are not 'facts' because someone on a message board 'thinks' they are.

None of the points you listed are indisputable. Therefore, by definition, they are not facts.

Conservatives are taking back control of the country- so these types of ugly attacks will only get worse as we get closer to 2012.

The debt super cycle that was started by FDR in 1933 - is ending now (more like blowing up in our faces!) and the country is moving strongly towards fiscal conservatism. That means less spending, less government, and more personal responsibility. Brace yourself for lots of mud slinging as entrenched special interests start feeling the pain......

Can't we at least fix the country first?

Sheesh..those Ronald Reagan/George W. Bush bailouts were pretty costly.

Ronald Reagan took the republican party into the insane mind frame they now have.

He taught them it was good for their party to hate poor people and ignore facts

By hating poor people you mean forcing them to earn a living instead of looking to government to take care of them? And if you want to talk about ignoring facts, look no further than your own party, they have been doing it for decades when it comes to ponzi schemes they have designed to look like bills all the while ignoring the facts that each one brings America even closer to being bankrupt.
Also, you say "He taught them", can you provide one valid link showing that "He taught" such a thing? I doubt it, but this should be entertaining none the less.

Lib talking points. Reagan was a hell of a lot better than what we have in office now. Universal health care sucks, so your point sucks. Thank goodness lbj didn't have his way, and you are an idiot.

You sound upset. That usuually happens when you two-faced bagheads have the truth thrown in your face. You can't take it.
A libtard doesn't know how to throw the truth because they can never tell the truth.

Guess who controlled the House both terms, and the Senate for the 2nd? The Big D's. The President can't get ANYTHING done, until the House and Senate have had their part first.

In 1993, when Clintons health care reforms died, the Dems controlled the House and the Senate during the end of the 103rd session. Why couldn't he get it passed then?

I'll prove you wrong right here. I am a Republican and a conservative, and I do NOT thin 'government' is the enemy. BIG government, a government that has grown too large and powerful that it's lost sight of it's true purpose... THAT is the enemy.

My links in response below...
Bush-Era Tax Cuts Reduce Deficit and Increase Employment | FreedomWorks
Did George W. Bush’s tax cuts help or hurt the economy? « Wintery Knight
Data from the end of 2001 to the latest recession bear this out. The economy started expanding again in the fourth quarter of 2001 and grew for 25 consecutive quarters. After enactment of the 2003 tax cut, which lowered the marginal effective tax rate on new investment, gross domestic product surged 7.5% in the third quarter, the fastest pace since 1984. And for 26 straight months unemployment stayed below 5%.

The Bush tax cuts also led to increases in tax revenues, and after 2004 the revenues grew faster than the economy. The ratio of tax receipts to GDP rose to 18.8% in 2007, above the 40-year average, and the deficit was just 1.2% of GDP.

From 2004 to 2008, capital gains realizations grew by 60%; from 2004 to 2007, corporate tax receipts nearly doubled, adding a full point to the revenues-to-GDP ratio.

My comments in RED above.....

Better not use facts, you'll upset TruthMatters.

LOL, addictinginfo??

And believe me...we see that you lefties live in a CONSTANT state of anger, so these here won't make much of a difference.

What we do see is the lefts LOVE OF A NANNY GOVERMENT though. And of COURSE to get your UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE, you have to use the GOVERNMENT to FORCE and STEAL other peoples monies to PAY FOR IT, but they don't have a problem with that either.

WE THE PEOPLE, NOT ME THE INDIVIDUAL. Did you steal your freedom today?

Each right IS an individual right, not a collective right as you say "we the people", if it where a collective right then by going off of the obamacare bill why has the government not purchased each citizen a firearm according to the second amendment?

Probably because he had no choice because of libtard socialists giving information they should not to our enemies? Say it isn't so! Oh wait, clinton did the same thing for China. Socialists can't help themselves, they hate America so much they would rather help out our enemies. Idiots.

I think a more accurate analogy to Obamacare would have been the government requiring everyone to buy a firearm because of the 2nd amendment... IMHO.

So instead of making up your own bullshit, you are c-ping someone elses.

You also forgot to add that Reagan created 20,000,000 jobs during his terms, while Berry is slowly causing millions in job losses due to failed policies.

Reagan ALLOWED millions of jobs to be created by the private sector.

Goivernment can not create jobs....except for government jobs.

You mean..like.."earn" a living like Reagan did? As..hmm..a Life Guard? Or Radio Announcer? Or Actor? Or ratting out friends for Roy Cohn? Or Govenor? Or as President? Which in order to win the election..he committed Treason?

Is that a good work ethic?

Reagan=still better than what we have in office now!

That's b/c Reagan was a leader that kept inspiring the nation each and every year in office.

Obama inspired the nation to elect him. His lack of leadership skills was put front and center with the hc debates. Just the fact that so much time was spent on it instead of important issues is more than telling enough. But the fact that so many bribes were needed when he had 2 filabuster proof houses....

I know the left won't put anyone up against him for the upcoming election, but they should.

He also "allowed" his vice to fleece silverado savings and loan on the tax payer dime.
