Mon January 21, 2013

STORY HIGHLIGHTS
- NEW: A man shoots business partner with a gun he bought at an Ohio show, police say
- A shotgun goes off as its owner unfastens its case at a N.C. gun show, wounding 3
- 1 man shoots himself with his semi-automatic in Indiana, police say
All three shootings are deemed accidental by authorities

(CNN) -- At least five people -- three in North Carolina, one in Indiana and one in Ohio -- were injured after weapons went off at gun shows Saturday, officials said, at a time when there's been renewed discussion about private gun sales at such shows.

..... Saturday’s incidents occurred on ‘Gun Appreciation Day,” an event led by a gun rights group that urged Americans to “go to your local gun store, gun range or gun show with your Constitution, American flags and your ‘Hands off my Guns’ sign to send a loud and clear message.”

While the NRA and their supporters have demanded the need for armed guards/teachers in schools, 5 accidential shootings at 3 different gun shows on the same day once again demonstrates the dangers associated with weapons.

The actions of these gun owners merely confirms the fears of many Americans that keeping guns in the home or in schools is an invitation for tragedy.

The spectacle of gun owners accidentially shooting each other no once, not twice but three times at gun shows on "Gun Appreciation Day” speaks volumes!

I own guns and am completely against gun control... but "Gun Appreciation Day?" Really? I mean they can be fun and you can defend yourself with them, but guns are objects that only exist because it makes it easier to kill things. And without them we wouldn't need them to defend ourselves. Should we really appreciate that? Really???

8 People Injured in Brooklyn Car Crash

It says "after the weapons went off".

Weapons dont "go off". Stupid rednecks who dont know how to safely care for a firearm and and carry it pull the trigger and discharge the weapon.

Stupid rednecks shouldnt hold guns, or ammo, but especially guns with ammo.
