No, conservatives want the 47% to pay their "fair share" instead of asking the 53% to pay even more than they are.

Better to say their equal % share... not 'fair'.. fair is a liberal buzz word.. and it is subjective

To the liberals the objective was, is and always will be to bring everybody DOWN to the lowest level.

So, whatever a billionaire might pay in taxes, it is not fair, because said billionaire still takes home more than a burger-flipper.

Yep, just throwing their argument back at them. If you're going to be "fair", then everybody has to have skin in the game. Demanding that those who are already paying taxes pay even more while so many pay nothing.......isn't "fair" in the least.

So CON$ like Reagan wanted the poor to pay their fair share so they cut their income taxes.

As has been pointed out, Reagan and Bush are the ones who created the half that does not pay income taxes. And don't try to pass them off as Liberals!

So all those self-described conservatives in Congress and other legislatures who've taken the Norquist pledge to never raise taxes,

who are they lying to?

They say they don't ever want to raise taxes.

You say what they really want is to raise taxes on low income Americans.

Which is it?

Throughout history, in every country and in every religion the tax or tithe was always set at 10%.

That amount of tax should more than cover the cost of all expenses the government must provide.

Other services should be paid for based on usage. Including roads and bridges, (already in place), entertainment (already in place) health care, education (partially in place), etc.

We are rapidly approaching the "Bread and Circuses" mentality of the Roman Empire. And even more alarmingly, the "To each according to his needs" mentality of the Soviet Union.
