JUST $831,000 !!!!

I'm pleasantly surprised.

I woulda expected those predictable crooks snookering away MILLIONS !!!

You may be thinking of the crooks Bush/Cheney/Rove

Corruption by one side, does not negate it from the other.... What amazes me is the lack of concern about it. I mean from both sides - it is, simply, NOT acceptable for anyone paid by 'We, the People' to be corrupt. If they don't pay their taxes, they should be fired - immediately. If they take backhanders - they should be fired.

We have corrupt politicians, aide, government employees. What do we do about it? Fuck all. No wonder they do it - there is no consequence.

Better they owe us than cheat us out of it, eh?

What I find somewhat disturbing is that on average those 41 employees owe nearly as much as the AVERAGE WAGE of all Americans.

FYI the average wage (not median or mean, not the median family income, either but the average wage) for every worker in this nation is only about $21,000 a year.

So how much money does one need to be making to end up owing $21,000 in back Federal taxes, anyway?

How much have these 41 aides already paid in income taxes, versus what they made, one wonders.

I owe the IRS back taxes and I M a Republican.
Anyone that trusts the IRS' formula and drops at their feet, licks their boots and never challenges their rulings is a damn fool.
If you do not try to stop a thief from stealing you are unAmerican.

If a government vehicle picks you up at your house the IRS has now ruled that you owe back taxes on it.
Find a real issue. NO conservative favors thiskind of BS.

The more affluent you are, the more likely it is you'll eventually end up having a debate with the IRS about how much you owe.

I remember when the Reagan Administration decided it was time to GET TOUGH on people who made tips and didn't claim them.

Yeah that's right...waitresses, cab drivers and people like that were targeted by Reagan as tax cheats.

What a guy, huh?

Well, I know a good many bartenders and waitresses... and yes, most are tax cheats. Why shouldn't a bartender pulling in $500/week in tips pay his taxes?

I hope they're getting garnished. I haven't paid $200 in state taxes - it's only been a few months and the assholes have already served a writ of garnishment against me.

Isn't Socialism fun?..."Get those Evil Rich People but i aint payin my taxes." Seriously though, this really is very disturbing. As usual, the corrupt MSM is ignoring this scandal. The Obama-Run Media definitely wont touch this one. This all started with "Turbo Tim" Geithner and it has all gone downhill since. What is it with Socialist/Progressive Democrats not wanting to pay their taxes? Man,these same people just love stealing from tax payers with their excessive taxation. It's just so bizarre. Time to clean house in this Administration. Some people gots to go. Hopefully this can start happening if the Republicans regain some power. Make 2010 count people.

Anyone with a complex tax return is likely to have a dispute with the IRS on the amount of tax they owe. Our tax laws are not black and white and are intentionally open to interpretation.
The reason money is still owed is probably because the case and the amount are still being disputed. The IRS initial response to a dispute is to disallow everything. It is then up to the taxpayer to prove the deduction

More on deadbeat federal workers - and note the problems with the post office workers:

Documents obtained by WTOP through the Freedom of Information Act show 449,531 federal employees and retirees did not pay their taxes for a total of $3,586,784,725 in taxes owed last year.

Each year the IRS tracks the voluntary compliance rate of all federal workers and retirees. The percentage of employees and retirees who are delinquent has gone up and down over the past five years, but the amount unpaid has increased each year topping $3.5 billion for the first time in 2007.

The agency with the most delinquent employees is the U.S. Postal Service. With more than 747,000 employees, the postal service is the largest employer in the federal government, but with a 4.16 percent delinquency rate, it is a full 1 percent above the average compliance rate this year.

Now THERE's a BRILLIANT IDEA ~

Our government in D.C. being paid the National MEDIAN INCOME, with ALL of the expenses that the rest of us bear, such as health insurance premiums.

Every year for the past 35 years I have filed a very complex tax return with capital gains from land-home sales, dividend income, interest income, depreciation, schedules C, Sched SE, Overflow statements, and etc, etc. and have virtually always filed extensions (4868) and secondary extensions with special requests required to be approved in writing by IRS. I have never had a dispute, much less an audit. I rely on a CPA to prepare my returns. I follow the rules, and I avoid taking certain deductions (I.E. home office) that would "red flag" my returns.

Yeah, that was Reagan the hater of income taxes and government's reasoning, too.

Like I said, most working people ended up paying more taxes under Reagan than before his administration took over.

I'm glad you understand that Reagan was just another collectivist.
