you didn't answer my question?? Did Steve Jobs create his job and his janitors job or did the janitor create his job and Steve Job's job. Are you afraid to answer??
I directly answered your question. Try reading next time. Steve Jobs created a product. The janitor or other people have to buy the product or neither he nor Steve Jobs would have a job at Apple.

yes Steve jobs and janitor are essential to enterprise so why does janitor volunteer to work for $10/ hour if he is as important as Jobs?
He doesn't volunteer. He has a family to feed and if a $10/hour janitor job is what is available to him, then he takes it.

dear, Jobs had a family to feed too yet he was given and agreed to take $10 billion and the janitor was given and agreed to take $10. Can you tell us why?

dude, i am a federalist.

do you mean conservative Republican??
you really should get your reading comprehension checked.
do you mean you're a conservative Republican?? Its best to use Republican and Democrat since those are the usual terms used and the terms you encounter in the voting booth. Trying to be too cool with your own BS terminology just slows down real communication. Do you understand?
here it is dear, for your ease and convenience:

I believe in and have Faith in the federal Doctrine, not the Republican doctrine.
what is definition of each since you use your own too cool language to make communication impossible
you are welcome to appeal to ignorance of the federal doctrine; i don't mind.

not at all; you are too cool to even abstain and just to say "no" to any fallacy regarding any clue and a Cause that merely requires a moral of "goodwill toward men", for free.

Capitalism has created more 'goodwill toward men' than any socialist based system has ever had.

People are not swimming to Cuba to get that "goodwill toward men" moral system.

"Productivity in the economy grew by 80.4 percent between 1973 and 2011 but the growth of real hourly compensation of the median worker grew by far less, just 10.7 percent….

"The pattern was very different from 1948 to 1973, when the hourly compensation of a typical worker grew in tandem with productivity.

"Reestablishing the link between productivity and pay of the typical worker is an essential component of any effort to provide shared prosperity and, in fact, may be necessary for obtaining robust growth without relying on asset bubbles and increased household debt."

40 Years of Economic Policy in One Chart CounterPunch Tells the Facts Names the Names

In the 1970s wages detached from productivity and the richest among us began using their newly acquired wealth to reduce taxes on capital, role back regulations, break unions, "and induce their shady Central Bank buddies to keep interest rates locked below the rate of inflation so they could cream hefty profits off gigantic asset bubbles."

Mission Accomplished?

If those producing are that damn good, perhaps they should start their own business.

Capitalism has created more 'goodwill toward men' than any socialist based system has ever had.
Capitalism has grown from human rights abuses ranging from chattel slavery to genocide to environmental Armageddon. Just because vesting control of the means of production in private hands has produced wealth beyond imagination for a few, that doesn't mean capitalism doesn't contain the seeds of its own destruction.

If those producing are that damn good, perhaps they should start their own business.
Or maybe their own central bank.
What do you think it means for productive labor when the Fed keeps the interest rate locked below the rate of inflation?

No, their own business. What do you think it means when those who claim to be the backbone of the success of a business don't start their own competing business? It means there's more to running a business than being able to do the labor. If they're so good at what they do, do it for themselves instead of someone else.

Very good post.

Now, the question is this: Why did compensation deviate from productivity and what will it take to change this, and realign compensation with productivity?

I would submit that the deviation occurred because workers became complacent and apathetic toward their own pay and began settling for pay that was lower in value than their production. The best way to counteract this trend is for workers to be more assertive and advocate for their own compensation.
Whether you want to be in a union or not you should defend unions because they bring all our wages up. Non union companies give good benefits to make their employees happy not because they are nice. Americans are getting the shaft.

Capitalism has grown from human rights abuses.

capitalism grew from love and gift giving. Before money people would exchange gifts. That was the origin of capitalism. One would give a gift and then the receiver would feel a social obligation to return a gift of similar or greater value sort of like capitalist competition. The idea was to always show more and more love among more and more people. Read "The Gift" is you want to begin your education.

dear
1)they keep interest rates low so people can borrow money easily to buy cars and homes etc etc.

2) now target inflation is 2% and home mortgages interest rates are 4.5%

you always can be counted on to know less than nothing which is typical of a liberal..

defend unions because they bring all our wages up..

too stupid does not know that the higher wages are paid by higher prices so no net benefit is possible
Bullshit. My dad saved a million bucks working 30 years at ford. He bought cars a second home and helped put 2 boys through college. Everyone wanted to work at ford. And the cost of living didn't...you know what? I'm not going to explain it to you. Just retire broke. I'm assuming you are the average american who's broke and in debt not saving a dime. And their parents won't be leaving them $1 mill
