355 Prophecies Fulfilled in Jesus Christ

Just how many names are you going by and you call me a Judas...Since we are mentioning names and you are into names let’s start with some interesting facts... There is no mention of the gospels till the 2 nd century... Further the gospels were unknown to Justin Martyr who obviusly would have quoted them if he knew they exsisted but he did not because the very names Mathew, Mark, Luke and John are never mentioned by him... Not even the bible claims that Mark was an eyewitness to Jesus. For his supposed time on earth...There is so much more I could say here but it is up to each and every person to figure these things out for themselves and who is telling the truth....Name calling is uncalled for and rather childish on your part but since you have so many names for your idol Jesus I quess it is flattering you are trying to rename me as well... Wink....

Judas is just a name that means Jew.

Most scholars believe Luke used Mark, and Luke was a contemporary of Paul, making a second century authorship of Mark essentially impossible, and a post 70 AD date very unlikely. Luke's history of the early church, Acts, ends before 70 AD, not even including the death of Paul, proving Acts was written before 70 AD, showing when Luke was active. And, Acts reads like a sequel to the Gospel of Luke.

There's not much in the way of early non-canon Christian writings in the late first or early second century, so the absence of clear quotes from a gospel doesn't prove a lot about when the gospel was written. On the other hand, the rapid spread of Christianity and Paul not writing about the life of Christ, indicates that the Gospels were making rounds well before 70 AD.

You come off a a slimy, lying Jew, no offense intended. :) I mean, you present very weak evidence while ignoring (not even attempting to refute) the several lines of evidence I gave.

There are no birth narratives in either Paul's letters or Mark. They were added to Matthew and Luke specifically to fulfill the prophesies that the messiah would be a descendant of King David and that he'd be born in Bethlehem.

Two conflicting family trees for Joseph are given, even though Joseph is not the father. These may have been two different oral histories in circulation at the time.

Luke invented a census to get Jesus to be born in Bethlehem. There is no other record of such a census in Roman history and when you think about it, it makes no sense to have to leave your current home to go to your ancestral home. David lived 1,000 years before Joseph, not many of us can say where our family lived 1,000 years ago.

Two conflicting family trees for Joseph are given, even though Joseph is not the father. These may have been two different oral histories in circulation at the time.

Legal lineage was through the male, so it makes sense to include Joseph's linage somewhere.

You ain't ever known no negroes. They don't know who their daddy is, but they know 500 years ago their ancestors were slaves in America and that's why they're poor today... it wouldn't have anything to do with dad not sticking around.

It was very religiously important for Jews to keep track of their ancestors. But, modern Americans don't give much of a rip who their ancestors are. We don't make much effort beyond the birth certificate, and even birth certificates don't mean a lot... especially since the Supreme Court recently sided with homos and ruled that a lesbian spouse gets a presumption of paternity, because male spouses do. How f1cking stupid is that? You're on the side of stupid libtards.

No, "Judas" is a slur, plain and simple.

Most scholars do NOT believe the gospel of Luke and Acts were written by Paul's contemporary named Luke. Both are anonymous writings. The only scholars who do believe that are the fundagelical ones, and that's only because of their religious bias, not because of objective research. The book of Acts is nowhere attested until late in the second century, I believe around 170 A.D. If Acts was a first-century document, it would have been attested long before that. Luke is also a second-century document. In my view, it is almost a certainty that the Theophilus to whom the book is addressed is none other than Theophilus, bishop of Antioch, who lived in the mid-second century.

There are many problems with the book of Acts. There are things in Acts that are anachronistic, ruling out a pre-70 dating. It has been conclusively demonstrated that the writer of Acts was aware of the writings of Josephus. Since Josephus' writings were not published until 90 A.D., Acts could not have been written prior to that. In addition, the portrayal of Paul in Acts repeatedly contradicts Paul's own writings. Acts is a fictitious re-writing of early church history by the proto-catholic church. It makes Paul and the Jerusalem leaders look like they were all one big happy family, when in fact they were arch-enemies. The writers of Acts deliberately omitted Paul's death to make it 'look' like a genuine first-century document. Very little in Acts can be trusted as genuine history.

Why would the proto-catholic church do that? It's simple really. At that time, Marcionism was spreading like wildfire. Marcion, in case you didn't know, was a second-century heretic who accepted only Paul's epistles, and rejected the authority of all other apostles or church leaders. It was spreading so fast, in fact, that church leaders feared it would become the dominant form of Christianity. So they figured the only way to beat Marcionism was to find a way to bring Marcionite believers into the proto-catholic fold. So the book of Acts was written to accomplish this. It depicts Paul as an apostle, yes, but an apostle who was subject to the authority of the Jerusalem church leaders - James and Peter specifically. This is quite the contrary to Paul's own writings. And their plan apparently worked. But it makes Acts a work of fiction.

The Romans kept very detailed records, most of which we still have. That census never happened. This is a FACT! And it's absurd to think that any census would require people to return to the homes of their ancestors hundreds of years earlier. Few Jews would have had any idea where to go! They didn't know their ancestry any better than we do.

There are so many contradictions between the two birth stories that it is impossible for them both to be true. Nobody ever has been able to reconcile them, and nobody ever will. The pathetic attempts by apologists to do so are as laughable as what you have written about it. Oh wait, no wonder your opinions on it are laughable - you got your opinions from those very apologists! You will never know the truth of the bible until you break away from their lies, and dare to read the works of REAL scholars.

There are no birth narratives in either Paul's letters or Mark. They were added to Matthew and Luke specifically to fulfill the prophesies that the messiah would be a descendant of King David and that he'd be born in Bethlehem.

I hope that the government does not make me return for a census to where my ancestors came from 1,000 years ago. We pretty much lost track of where they came from, back before 1692.

As requested:

Modern scholarship tends to see the genealogies of Jesus as theological constructs rather than factual history: family pedigrees would not usually have been available for non-priestly families, and the contradictions between the two lists are seen as clear evidence that these were not based on genealogical records. Additionally, the use of titles such as 'Son of God' and 'Son of David' are seen as evidence that they do not come from the earliest Gospel traditions.[25] Raymond E. Brown says the genealogies "tell us nothing certain about his grandparents or his great-grand-parents".[26]

Gundry suggests the series of unknown names in Matthew connecting Joseph's grandfather to Zerubbabel as an outright fabrication, produced by collecting and then modifying various names from 1 Chronicles.[27] Sivertsen sees Luke's as artificially pieced together out of oral traditions. The pre-exilic series Levi, Simeon, Judah, Joseph consists of the names of tribal patriarchs, far more common after the exile than before, while the name Mattathias and its variants begin at least three suspiciously similar segments.[28] Kuhn likewise suggests that the two series Jesus–Mattathias (77–63) and Jesus–Mattatha (49–37) are duplicates.[29]

A Phineas like moment Thankyou.....I do not respond to Antisemitic drivel like Bulletproof spouts....Actually reading most of his posts it seems like he slurs every group evenly,,,My post was to get people to think for themselves and to make their own educated decisions about whether something is truthfull or not....You obviously have done so and it is comendable.....That does not mean we will not disagree with each other in the future over this or that but I would rather loose to a smart one such as yourself then argue with a Fool like Bulletproof...

All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23“Behold! The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel” (which means, “God with us”). 24When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and embraced Mary as his wife.…

Also...

Question: "Why wasn't Jesus named Immanuel?"

Answer:
In the prophecy of the virgin birth, Isaiah 7:14, the prophet Isaiah declared, "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call Him Immanuel." This prophecy refers to the birth of Jesus in Matthew 1:22-23, "All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 'The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel' which means, 'God with us.'" This does not mean, however, that the Messiah’s name would actually be Immanuel.

There are many names given to Jesus using the phrase “He shall be called,” both in the Old and New Testaments. This was a common way of saying that people would refer to Him in these various ways. Isaiah prophesied of the Messiah, “His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). None of these titles was Jesus’ actual name, but these were descriptions people would use to refer to Him forever. Luke tells us Jesus “shall be called the Son of the Highest” (Luke 1:32) and “son of God” (1:35), but neither of these was His name.

In two different places, the prophet Jeremiah says in referring to the coming Messiah, “And this is His name by which He shall be called, YHWH, OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS” (Jeremiah 23:5-6; 33:15-16). Now we know that God, the Father, is named Yahweh. Jesus was never actually called Yahweh as though it was His name, but His role was that of bringing the righteousness of Yahweh to those who would believe in Him, exchanging that righteousness for our sin (2 Corinthians 5:21). Therefore, this is one of the many titles or “names” which belong to Him.

In the same way, to say that Jesus would be called "Immanuel" means Jesus is God and that He dwelt among us in His incarnation and that He is always with us. Jesus was God in the flesh. Jesus was God making His dwelling among us (John 1:1,14). No, Jesus' name was not Immanuel, but Jesus was the meaning of Immanuel, "God with us." Immanuel is one of the many titles for Jesus, a description of who He is.

Immanuel was Hezekiah, not Jesus.

The figure making up a portion of the Jesus Myth who Joseph was not the father of, was Yeshu ben Panderas, who's Roman Father's lineage was not Jewish and who's mother's lineage goes through a Canaanite Woman, making that figure unqualified as Moshiach as well as not permited to step foot in the Temple-(Deut on forbiden entrance by a Bastard Child)

Yes as you pointed out Michael no one figure made the created image of Jesus and it should be noted that only on the pages in the New Testament is this compiled figure given an image of living a life as he was created by the lying scribes….He(the created image) is the ultimate idol and Isaiah 44 verses 9 13 and 17 explicitly show this as do other passages so if one could claim those 355 passages for their idol Jesus which is utter nonsense then we can show them the passage he does fit which is Isaiah 44 using an even playing field of 355 to 1…..

Thanks, I had so much to post on Isaiah that I forgot I wanted to add the verses on the idol Isaiah talks about.. But of course that will be selectively ignored because by their own argument and standards that makes the only mention of Jesus in Isaiah being about Lucifer in 14:12-17 and all the forbidden idol verses:
Isaiah 44:10
The Temple Scroll:
(IIQT=IIQ19,20, 4Q365a)
Column II (The Covenant)
You must not bring any abominable idol into your house and come under the ban together with it.
You shall detest and abominate it for it is under the ban.
The rest talks about taking care not to make a covenant with the people who whore after their idol gods and sacrifice to it inviting them to do the same.

Metal idols
Leviticus 19:4
"`Do not turn to idols or make gods of cast metal for yourselves. I am the LORD your God.
1 Kings 14:9
Isaiah 48:5

Isaiah 44:10
Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image that is profitable for nothing?

Literally the worship of images, idolatry in the broader sense means allegiance to false values that substitute for God.

idols are regarded as evil spirits and Satan (adversary practice); those who worship them are therefore enemies to God. The idol-gods, beingspiritual beings, have the nature of creatures, rather than of God, andhence cannot profit their adherents--cf. Spiritual Error and the Occult. The Bible views idols as human artifacts, not as representations of deity. Hence idol worship is regarded as a form of materialism, and, conversely, any false reliance on human power or wealth is a form of idolatry. A more spiritual conception of idolatry is to identify it with egoism and human craving, since attachment tothese false realities separates us from our true nature. In ourcentury, the idols of nationalism, racism, and secular ideologies havecaptivated millions, with horrible results.

The prophets (including Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel) were spokesmen for God to the people and to their leaders: they often disagreed with the men in power and had no fear of expressing their messages from God -- generally directing against the idolatry and "false gods." Jeremiah warned the people not to use idols such as totem-pole-like "gods"
Idols: it has Imigrated into Men’s minds from the dogma’s of the churches philosophies, also from the wrong path of the Hierarchy that imposes the control. It is in the way they bow to the cross, burn candles, kiss medalions and worship a Prophet as God Himself in place of God. One of the things that G0D forbids is idols, worship using images gods or even of G0D himself (Exodus 20:4 and Leviticus 26:1). Man, as it is written, was created as an image of G0D (Genesis 1:27). And, so, worshipping a man as G0D is idolatry.
After all, G0D himself says that "G0D is not a man" (in Isaiah 2:22, 14:13, I Samuel 15:29, Numbers 23:19, and Hosea 11:9).

In Isiah44;9 It states they that make a graven image are all of them vanity and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses;(christians) they see not; nor know; that they may be ashamed. Still confused well here is some more.
Isaiah44;13 The carpenter
( was Jesus not considered a carpenter?) strecheth out his rule(over the world)he marketh it out with a line;he fitteth it with planes and he marketh it out with a compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man(JESUS);according to the beauty of a man;that it mat remain in the house(Maybe over your bed?) One more passage Isiah44;17 And the residue thereof he maketh a god(JESUS)Even his graven image(AGAIN JESUS);He falleth down unto it and worshippeth it. and prayeth unto it and saith Deliver me; for this art my god(JESUS).
