I get e-mail after e-mail from ObamaInc bragging about how they, unlike the Fat Old Bald White Men in the REPUBLICan Party, do NOT take Special Interest Money...

GFY O!...

Obama hits Chicago for 50th birthday fund-raisers at the Aragon - Lynn Sweet

The event is multi-tiered: There is a concert at 4 p.m.--Foster said songstress Jennifer Hudson may perform--for the basic $50 contribution, of which there is supposed to be "limited availability."

For $10,000, a person gets a souvenir photo with Obama at a reception and preferred seating at the concert. For $1,000 a person gets seated in a "premium section" with a "hosted bar." A general admission ticket is $200.

^It didn't say what the Couples who Paid $35,800 get?...

A Night in the Lincoln Bedroom with the First Couple?...

Jebus, that's a LOT of Scratch to kick with the Messianic One.

:)

We've always depended on supporters like you -- not Washington lobbyists or PACs -- for every dollar we get. Your donation will help pay for new offices, organizer trainings, and resources like phones and clipboards to support our hard-working staff and volunteers.

Thanks again for you generous support,

Obama for America

It's good to be the King. And how is this guy gonna be the first $Billion Presidential Candidate without Special Interest Money? Only a dumbed-down Hopey Changey follower could believe that shit. You don't run a $Billion Campaign without a whole lot of Special Interest Cash.

The seniors he just threatened not give to give checks should be real joyed over this..

Now, I agree with you that Obama is full of shit when he claims to "not take PAC or special interest money". Obama's as corporate-funded as anyone else in American politics.

Aside from that - a fundraiser is a fundraiser. Every candidate has them. Who cares? This is how our system works - either we fix it (don't ask me how), or we quit bitching about it.

The Obama sure does a lot of fundraisers on our dime.

when the hell does he have time to work.

Snip:
Close The White House says President Obama isn't focused on his reelection campaign, but tonight he will headline his 29th and 30th fundraisers for the year.

Mark Knoller of CBS News, tabulator of White House statistics, said Obama so far this year has raised money in six states plus Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico.

At the same point in former President George W. Bush's reelection cycle, he had done only three fundraisers, Knoller said.

Well, the 'guests' may not be special interests now, but after they fork over $1,000, $10,000, or $38,000 to attend the party, you can bet your bottom dollar they will expect to become special interests and entitled to some pretty impressive favors real fast.
