Jobs better get added a whole lot quicker. Boeing is dumping a shit load in Wichita because of cuts in Defense spending and the military is getting rid of a half million...... good luck with that....... an anti business administration headed by someone that couldn't run a paper route but spends other's money like he's a billionaire...... you must be so proud

It's amazing how relentlessly negative you people are.

Let me ask you something. Government spending: good, or bad?
Bad. Government spending occurs at the expense of market spending, and government spending has to go through layers of corrupt bureaucracy before it gets put to any use, and is driven by politics, thus giving the economy far less bang for its buck.

Not a very difficult question.

Well, you're consistent, I'll give you that. For sitarro it's just a question whether it's a "Demoncrat" who's doing it.

I'm assuming you agree with cutting spending on defense?

Once you use up your 2 years of unemployment you fall off the stats... You are "officially" no longer looking for work...

Ask the unemployed if the picture is rosey out there...

The BLS reports that number as U-6. It's been falling along with the other 'official' UE numbers:

Table A-15. Alternative measures of labor underutilization

No, the U-6 is unemployed plus marginally attached plus part time for economic reasons as a percent of the labor force and marginally attached.
Marginally AT&Tached means willin and available to work, looked for work in the last 12 months but not the last 4 weeks.
Benefits play NO part in the calculations.

How about this: private sector jobs increased by 7 million from 2002 to 2007 - from after the end of the first Bush recession to before the beginning of the second one. That's about 100,000/mo.

Private sector payrolls will increase by at least that much for each of the next three months - Jan., Feb., and March.

If so, you wear a pro-Obama banner until after we win in November.

Deal?

Bump.

Nearly half those jobs were created because of the housing bubble.

It's not something you should brag about.

Reuters) - Private-sector hiring surged in December as employers added 325,000 new workers while claims for jobless benefits fell, raising hope that recent labor market improvement would continue in 2012.

The ADP National Employment Report's December job tally surprised economists who had expected a 178,000 gain. It was also well above the 204,000 private jobs added in November.

"The number is stunning," said Wayne Kaufman, chief market analyst at John Thomas Financial in New York.

More good news for Democrats?

You're played like a fiddle.

How many 99 tweekers ran out? They were never counted otherwise please show stat boy. Furthermore, they dont cnt the underemployed. The stimulus didn't work and obumer is asking for 1.2T more of your taxpayers dollars. The banks are saying they cant hold on b/c of cds, credit default swaps.

Let's see....

Adding 325,000 jobs a month vs losing 700,000 jobs a month under republicans

Can you see why Republicans are so pissed?

On the contrary...again...maybe I need to type it out....s l o w e r.....

It isn't good news until it hits 450,000, anything less is still lousy.
What it is is "lesser bad news". But it is still bad news.
It means unemployment is still rising.

Not true.

The economy lost 280,000 government jobs in 2011. I thought you people were for that sort of thing.

U-6 counts those sort of people and that number fell substantially as well.
