325,000 New Jobs in December

Your bet is foolish: we haven't had 300k+ jobs created in a month in god know how many years. Make a reasonable offer and I'll take you up on it.

450,000 created/new jobs is needed every month to keep up with that many new people entering the job market.
325,000 new jobs means 125,000 of those people will not find one.
No matter how you shake it 325,000 jobs still adds 125,000 more unemployed people than November.

Your numbers are WAY off. Why dont you do a google search on how many new people enter the market before posting stuff you obviously have no idea about. The number of new people entering the job market is usually found to be between 125k-150k not 450k

Facts have a well-known liberal bias. That's why Republicans feel so persecuted all the time. Facts - and numbers - are always trying to get them.

Its not really that, the problem is that this message board is a magnet for the most partisan hacks. Republicans here will say anything to make Obama look at fault, while the dems here will say anything to make him look good.
This actually has very little to do with Obama, he has done about an average job on the economy as far as I'm concerned and there has been a few areas where he could have improved fairly easily. Overall what is happening is that many of the factors that have been wrong with the economy have slowly begun to heal.

Once you use up your 2 years of unemployment you fall off the stats... You are "officially" no longer looking for work...

Ask the unemployed if the picture is rosey out there...

absolutely 100% wrong. Unemployed is counted as anyone that meets 2 qualifications.
1) they say they want a job
2) they have looked for a job in the last 6 months.
Further this is a report about how many new permanent jobs were added, not an unemployment rate report.

Actually it's
Did not work during the reference week.
Could accept job if offered.
Actively looked for work in the previous 4 weeks

Reuters) - Private-sector hiring surged in December as employers added 325,000 new workers while claims for jobless benefits fell, raising hope that recent labor market improvement would continue in 2012.

The ADP National Employment Report's December job tally surprised economists who had expected a 178,000 gain. It was also well above the 204,000 private jobs added in November.

"The number is stunning," said Wayne Kaufman, chief market analyst at John Thomas Financial in New York.

More good news for Democrats?

You didn't read the rest of the story sd. The temp seasonal jobs that the administration needed for a fake spike faded away in the week of 12/24 when 381,000 new people filed for unemployment.

Once again, it is seasonally adjusted. In other words THEY DONT COUNT SEASONAL JOBS. I don't know why this is so hard to understand.
Your point that unemployment claims went up shows this, is completely misleading as this week it fell right back down. New jobless claims came out today at 372k, so are you suggesting that people also started seasonal hiring after christmas?

Let's see....

Adding 325,000 jobs a month vs losing 700,000 jobs a month under republicans

Can you see why Republicans are so pissed?

On the contrary...again...maybe I need to type it out....s l o w e r.....

It isn't good news until it hits 450,000, anything less is still lousy.
What it is is "lesser bad news". But it is still bad news.
It means unemployment is still rising.

No it does not.

Yawn...................

The more comprehensive government payrolls monthly report, due Friday, is expected to show the economy added 150,000 public and private sector jobs in December, according to a Reuters survey conducted earlier this week.

How about this: private sector jobs increased by 7 million from 2002 to 2007 - from after the end of the first Bush recession to before the beginning of the second one. That's about 100,000/mo.

Private sector payrolls will increase by at least that much for each of the next three months - Jan., Feb., and March.

If so, you wear a pro-Obama banner until after we win in November.

Deal?

Bump.

Sorry...can't read your font

Is there just one thread out there where you are'nt a jackass?

Sorry...can't read that small since my eye surgery. Your posts are not worth the effort anyway

buy a decent computer and you can enlarge the font.

Jobs better get added a whole lot quicker. Boeing is dumping a shit load in Wichita because of cuts in Defense spending and the military is getting rid of a half million...... good luck with that....... an anti business administration headed by someone that couldn't run a paper route but spends other's money like he's a billionaire...... you must be so proud

It's amazing how relentlessly negative you people are.

Let me ask you something. Government spending: good, or bad?

Bad. Government spending occurs at the expense of market spending, and government spending has to go through layers of corrupt bureaucracy before it gets put to any use, and is driven by politics, thus giving the economy far less bang for its buck.

Not a very difficult question.
