30 Years of James Hansen Bogosity

You know who this tool and all the other confidence men sell bs re: weather...

The Rainmaker is a play written by N. Richard Nash in the early 1950s. The play opened on October 28, 1954, at the Cort Theatre in New York City, and ran for 125 performances. It was directed by Joseph Anthony and produced by Ethel Linder Reiner.

The play was translated into more than 40 languages and made into the 1956 film The Rainmaker, starring Burt Lancaster and Katharine Hepburn. The story was also made into a Broadway musical, 110 in the Shade. The play was revived on Broadway in 1999–2000 starring Woody Harrelson and Jayne Atkinson, who was nominated for the 2000 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play.

Plot summary[edit]
Set in a drought-ridden rural town in the West in Depression-era America, the play tells the story of a pivotal hot summer day in the life of spinsterish Lizzie Curry. Lizzie keeps house for her father and two brothers on the family cattle ranch. She has just returned from a trip to visit pseudo-cousins (all male), which was undertaken with the failed expectation that she would find a husband. As their farm languishes under the devastating drought, Lizzie's family worries about her marriage prospects more than about their dying cattle. A charming confidence trickster named Starbuck arrives and promises to bring rain in exchange for $100. His arrival sets off a series of events that enable Lizzie to see herself in a new light.

All these hucksters from individuals, Colleges, TV stations, Magazine's, Publishers all are lined up and getting if not rich making a living off BS...

Soooo, you think I care what a game designer thinks? If he were an actual....you know....scientist I might care, but he's just a money grubber. He grubbed for money on the sceptic side, and now he grubs for money on the totalitarian dictator side. The one common denominator is he's a money grubber.

Wait, the sides involved are skeptics and totalitarian dictators? :eusa_think:

Yes, the climate change crowd is all about a dictatorship. They want absolute control over people, they are certain that they are the ones who should tell others how to live their lives. How would you describe that philosophy?

I would say that the philosophy you describe is not equivalent to people who believe in climate change or man-made climate change. Do you really believe that all people who believe climate change exists are totalitarians?

Climate Change Prediction Fail?
What did ‘climate hero’ James Hansen actually predict back in 1986?

Ronald Bailey | June 17, 2016

Excerpt:

"At the time, the Associated Press reported that Hansen "predicted that global temperatures should be nearly 2 degrees higher in 20 years" and "said the average U.S. temperature has risen from 1 to 2 degrees since 1958 and is predicted to increase an additional 3 or 4 degrees sometime between 2010 and 2020." These increases would occur due to "an expected doubling of atmospheric carbon dioxide by 2040." UPI reported that Hansen had said "temperatures in the United States in the next decade will range from 0.5 degrees Celsius to 2 degrees higher than they were in 1958."

30 Years of James Hansen Bogosity

How many thread do need on this putz? ff got his ass handed to him in boe's thread and now it's happening again... Looks like a consolidation is in order...
Why in the world would you be so silly as to think that a bunch of cackling, squawking, uneducated morons are "handing him his ass", in light of the many accolades and awards he receives from the scientific community? How bizarre!

You are behaving like a TROLL since you completely ignored his provable prediction errors as shown in the posted article.

Since you never even tried to explain his provable errors away, your only recourse left is to bring up IRRELEVANT bullcrap hoping people will follow your desperate deflection to his awards and ribbons won.

Why a paid climate doubter switched sides » Yale Climate Connections

Of course, the denier stomped his feet and stuck his head in the sand during the debate. But, once he did not have to posture for a TV audience, he actually read Hansen's words during his congressional testimony. He realized how wrong he was and now advocates for measures to combat climate change.

Here he is again with another attempt to deflect from the post, since he makes clear he has no cogent argument against it. Here is the post headline he never addresses.

30 Years of James Hansen Bogosity

His first attempt was to try making Dr. Hansen look good with his awards and money awards with 173 papers, as his laughable deflection attempt to the proven failures Dr. Hansen is known to have made. But is IRRELEVANT to the thread!

His latest attempt doesn't even mention Dr. Hansen at all. The Yale article is IRRELEVANT to the thread!

He is now flat out TROLLING!

Reading this thread made me realize there is only ONE James Hansen fan, he failed to defend him anyway. Thus the posted documented prediction failures are left intact without a single rebuttal.

Weak..., very weak defense.
