In my opinion, he deserves much more than the 4 year minimum sentence. The judge deserves 4 years for this ridiculous sentence.

What the judge basically said was...she didn't look her age, some vids he saw of her report gave him the impression she didn't ask her age, and therefore, he considered it that she "asked for it" by her behavior? NO MEANS NO.

There was a story last night about a man in Minnesota who was found guilty of molesting a 7 yr old child up to the time she was 11 yrs. old or so. The sentence could have been life in prison. Instead the judge gave him probation. No prison time. Not a single day. People trying to contact the Judge in Minnesota have been unsuccessful. No one is returning calls according to the news report.

If a woman kills her abusive husband, she'll get life in prison. If he kills her, the average sentence is 7 years. Blacks get much longer sentences for the same crime than whites do.

And, as we saw here, many believe older men should be able to "marry" 14yo girls. And, many of those people call themselves "christians" and agree with the old man who preached that.

Our country, our society, our legal system does not value children and women. And we sure as hell don't value people of color.

Important to differentiate forcible rape and statutory rape. This particular case was statutory rape. The girl consented, but when the thing went public she was shamed and about a year later killed herself. She did not kill herself as a direct result of the statutory rape. But the resulting shame heaped upon her. One more instance of how if we simply accepted sex as the natural thing everyone wants to do and adjusted laws accordingly bad outcomes like this wouldn't be happening.

When we begin puberty, our bodies are sexually mature like any other animal. We are biologically programmed to desire sex and from the onset of puberty onwards our bodies are producing sex hormones which are making this so. Our statutory rape laws are counter to our biology. If nothing else we should allow any teen 13+ to enjoy sex with other close-in-aged teens. Plus or minus a couple years is more sensible than ages of cnsent up around 18. That's ~6 years of celibacy at a time your body's screaming out for sexual pleasures.

If we allows teens to have sex with those within a year or two of themselves we can provide educaiton and health services much more thna we currently are because it's no longer criminal. Keeping it criminal isn't curtailing teenager sex, it's simply putting it into dark places where immoral adults are taking advantage. If teens don't need to conceal their sexuality though it's easy to manage than when they're having to hide it.

So since she consented...at 14...that means he didn't rape her. FOURTEEN YEAR OLDS ARE NOT FULLY COOKED YET. You know...with SENSE. I know I was pretty fucking dumb and did dumb shit at 14.

I would go one step further. I'd force the judge to sign up as a registered sex offender as punishment for condoning the rape.

How horrible! It seems to me that in parts of this country, women and girls are still being treated like second class citizens, being treated like any rape is their fault.
