3 People (Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos & Warren Buffett) are richer than the poorest 50% of Americans

First we can start with the Hasidic Jews and ultra orthodox in New York, its the welfare and baby boom capital of the US.

Jews aren't noted for having large families or being on welfare.

You had best start reading, did I not say Hasidic and Ultra Orthodox jews, they are taking over the NY suburbs ,

Welfare capital and baby boom capital.

Apparently you don't know how to communicate your point because you're making no sense.

Are you aware not all jews are alike. Are you even out of HS.
You are babbling incorently. I have no idea what you're even trying to say. Does mommy know you're playing with her computer?

It isn't theirs

They cheated on taxes by using loop holes and offshoring. They're CHEATING! Look at the Paradise papers to realize that this is true!
They cheated their workers out of what they earned through their hard work by making 985%, while the workers haven't gotten shit. Is this fair? NO.
They jacked up prices on their product for Americans, while other countries can get the same product for 1/10th as much.
They used slave and serf labor in the third world to make so much profit. They use abusive and shitty quality of work environment.

Come on Kat.
Cheated?

Take it up with your Representatives, who also benefit from these loopholes.

These fuckers need a tax break. Ask all of their bought and paid for Reps in congress.

I have no problem with rich folks being rich, or very, very rich.

What I have problems with are:
  • Legislatures giving them breaks and deals -- tax code and regulatory provisions/concessions or financing arrangements -- that are accessible only if one (or an entity) is deep-pocketed.
  • Jurisdictions clamoring for the "opportunity" to spend less rich folks' tax dollars to attract/subsidize rich folks building "whatever" in their locality when the fact of the matter is that the profit motive, that is, the value proposition of building "here" or "there" should be more than adequate for the investor(s) to choose one place over another. It's all the more galling when the same concessions aren't offered to smaller business owners and investors.
  • Mega-wealthy ($500M+) folks, under the auspices of caring about the middle class, griping about the "bite" taxes take.
  • Wealthy folks griping about the "bite" taxes take from their fortunes/income.
I realize that's all normative, but it's how I feel about it.

I just that I know that above a certain wealth level, regardless of what tax rate one faces, one's life and lifestyle isn't going to change. I believe than upon reaching that point, one has to have the decency to say "okay, yes, I may have to pay more in taxes, but I can live every bit as nicely as I do now and if by my paying that much more some several hundred people enjoy a somewhat better lifestyle, that's a good enough reason for me to not make such a big deal about the fact that I am paying more." At what point does one achieve enough wealth that one can literally afford, financially and with regard to one's tax liability, to care more about one's countrymen than oneself? Well, I can assure you it's far less a billion dollars of net worth.

I don't begrudge folks their immense wealth. I take exception with the attitude whereby some mega-wealthy folks think they need to become personally wealthier and that the taxes they pay are an unjust impediment to their doing so. I'm not by any means mega-wealthy, yet I'm wealthy enough to know that the average middle class person's situation is more important than whether I pay another five or ten percent more or less or pay at the same rate I do now in taxes. If I've reached that point, I know damn well that megao-wealthy folks also should have reached that point.

We can deal with a fact like this in two ways: We can debate whether it's "right" or "wrong", or we can deal with reality.

The reality is that if we allow this stunning wealth inequality to continue, the bottom 99.99% will ultimately decide they've had enough. And when something like that happens, we usually knee-jerk too far in the opposite direction.

"Right" or "Wrong" is irrelevant. This can't continue. If it does, what comes next will be worse than it needs to be.

We are headed for that knee jerk reaction, because our huge central omnipresent government protects and enriches the super wealthy. We have a government of the super rich, by the super rich, and for the super rich...and this has been the case for some time.

When has the central government done anything that the super wealthy oppose?

Trump won in part because he 'claimed' he would change things but as we know, he has done little.

I think a mistake we make is to think that it's the people we put in power that matters.

It's the system in which we allow them to operate that matters. We have to change the system, otherwise these people will continue to be infected by it.

Agreed. Trump was put in power by the people who hoped he could change things. However, the system clearly does not want change and opposes him at every level.

Americans like to think voting allows them the power to change things. Sadly, the reality clearly proves this is not true. Yes...it is the system.

Three Richest Americans Now Own More Wealth Than Bottom Half of US Combined: Report

"The elite ranks of our billionaire class continue to pull apart from the rest of us," a new Institute for Policy study analysis finds
by Jake Johnson, staff writer

In the United States, the 400 richest individuals now own more wealth than the bottom 64 percent of the population and the three richest own more wealth than the bottom 50 percent, while pervasive poverty means one in five households have zero or negative net worth.

snip

"The wealthiest 25 individuals in the United States today own $1 trillion in combined assets," the report notes. "These 25, a group equivalent to the active roster of a major league baseball team, hold more wealth than the bottom 56 percent of the U.S. population combined, 178 million people."'

snip

In order to get a broader sense of the size of the chasm between rich and poor in the U.S., Collins and Hoxie place the net worth of the top one percent and the bottom one percent side by side.

"The wealthiest 25 individuals in the United States today hold more wealth than the bottom 56 percent of the U.S. population combined, 178 million people." "All combined, households in the bottom one percent have a combined negative net worth of $196 billion," the report finds. "For comparison, the top one percent, a category holding the exact same number of people, have positive $33.4 trillion in combined net worth."

It is time to close the loopholes, increase their income tax and even the fucking playing field. That my friends is the right thing to do.

How are you going to even the playing field by punishing the high income earners? They will reduce their spending and incentive to earn more which means less money for you to redistribute. This, coupled with ignorance and refusal to reduce government spending is simply going to push US towards the failed socialist models of other countries.

Distributed prosperity cannot be achieved in economic policies rooted in class warfare.

The problem IS the extreme wealthy. The so called .01%. They have attained enormous political power, due to their enormous wealth. Many of these enormously wealthy people use the central government to achieve power and wealth. They do this by buying protection from central government rules and regulations, via huge political donations. It is a racket the Mafia can only dream of.

They often can protect their enormous wealth from taxation...here is a good series of columns exposing how they do it.

No shit!? They finally got something on him? I never did like that smug little fuck. What do you have? When will they prosecute? Can't wait to see him behind bars.
I guess giving hundreds of thousands of dollars to political campaigns and then giving Open Borders and Business Visas speeches to Congress is cool with mentally retarded Liberfuckians.

So why aren't we prosecuting him, instead of just whining about how much money has?
Tell me when anyone Legislates against huge contributions from Foundations; I'll wait.

They get tax breaks because they own both parties. Your beloved Big Ears was entirely owned by the ultra wealthy, as is your beloved D party.

Not only do the ultra rich get tax breaks, they shelter huge sums of money from taxation. Read the two series entitled Paradise Papers and Panama Papers.

Be specific and no lies.
His Foundations are a sham.
He owns pharmaceuticals companies in Africa that use Africans instead of mice.
He keeps pushing the bullshit that India and Africa are the most advanced societies on Earth.

What is your personal grudge against Bill Gates?

I think you're confusing the Gates Foundation with the Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation.
Thanks for admitting you never followed Bill Gates trail of bullshit since 1998.

Bill Gates is in a class of scum of his own.

Bill Gates was apolitical until he started seeing what his accountants and other people were telling him. That he needed his own lobbyists to protect his interests.

How many high paying jobs and millionaires has the work of Bill Gates and his original partners created? How much have all those people paid in income taxes alone?

How much of the money you "should have" is in the pocket of Bill Gates and why?
Bill Gates initiated every lawsuit he was slapped with. He stole and copyrighted everything except for his original Quick Basic. He even stole Visual Basic.

They have more individual wealth than half of all Americans

So why are we looking to cut their tax rate by 4% ??

Whenever this issue comes up the obvious question which no one can answer is so what?
How does it hurt you if someone makes more money than you?

If you make enough to pay your bills and support yourself and your family what does it matter?

These wealthy people did not take their money from others they made their wealth and earned their money so why should they be punished?

Especially since most of their wealth is invested which provides endless jobs and opportunities for others?

Other than some emotional sentiment how is it the right thing to do to raise ANYONE"S taxes?

But why are we offering them more tax breaks when they obviously don't need it?

Their wealth isn’t based on income from an employer. They built their empires and created things that people buy or use.

Just because half the country is content with being bottom feeders doesn’t mean the people actually doing stuff should be penalized for it.
Built or inherited.

Many who inherited couldn't manage a McDonald's.

So, I just wanna be clear here. You're saying he's a criminal, and you may be right. But I get the impression that's really not important to your argument. I'm betting that even if there were rock solid proof that he was innocent, you'd still be peeved about him having that much money. Am I right?
