3,000 record low temps set in July

Well, the US is about 2% of the world's surface. What happened in the other 98
%?

July's climate: Chilly USA, torrid globe - USATODAY.com

But "Whoa Nellie" as Keith Jackson used to say. While the Northeast USA was indeed chilling out in July, take a look at these statistics, courtesy of the University of Alabama – Huntsville: For the world as a whole, July was the 2nd-warmest ever recorded, the Southern Hemisphere had its 2nd-warmest month ever (compared to seasonal norms), and it was the 2nd-warmest month ever recorded in Antarctica (again compared to seasonal norms

You can't be serious. YOU are using Roy Spencer to support your case?

More than 75% is water ... and all the temps listed for those are projected and guestimated.

Second Warmest July on Record Globally, according to NASA
NASA's Goddard Institute of Space Studies (GISS) has determined that July of 2009 was the second warmest July globally, since records were kept going back well over a hundred years.

AccuWeather.com: Global Warming News, Science, Myths, Articles

The global land-ocean temperature anomaly for July 2009 was +.60 Celsius or +1.08 F. Only July of 1998 (a strong el nino year) was warmer.

The image below shows the July 2009 anomalies across the globe (warm is red, cool is blue). Clearly the reds and oranges far outweigh the blues on this map.

NASA was around in 1909?

It's amusing that "since records were kept" goes back to the days when squinting, grey haired, Mr. Chips looking acedemics strolled out to their tree-mounted thrmometers in bath robes and said to themselves, "Hmmm... About 34 dergrees, huh? I'll have to write that down when I get back in..." Some days they did and some days they didn't.

These records are repleat with gaps, missing info and round numbers. Digitally figured temperatures recorded to the tenth or hundredth are a fairly recent phenom.

The 1880 records are probably a little better than tree rings, but not much. One thing is certain. Tree rings were more wide spread than record keepers.

another one for you man made global warming kooks........AccuWeather.com News & Blogs: Jesse Ferrell Blog:eusa_liar:

3000, thats a tiny fraction of all the points on earth one could take the temperature, the number of points that a laser can measure on earth is infinite. Either side of the debate we do not have a data base large enough or a computer powerful enough to compute all the data points a laser can measure.

think about that, both side of this debate are acting like idiots.

It seems to me that there are more than two sides to this debate.

This whole catagory is a joke, endless posts of data nobody really knows yet they think they do. Whats accomplished. Nothing, you cannot even call this a debate.

Every thread and every post is exactly the same, endless cuts/paste of data the best scientists in the world argue over.

Exactly. And that's what makes it such a good debating arena.

It's not about religion, doesn't have to be about politics and you can talk about it all day and never mention Joe Momma.

Because there is so little that is known about this, a guy off the street is about as knowledgable as an expert.

You have to love NOAA. With literally millions of dollars of predicting equipment and only God knows how many academic degrees to work with, they called the odds of having a hurricane season with or without more or less or stronger or weaker hurricanes about even.

This is to say that their indicators pointed to a stronger seasoin and a weaker season in equal parts.

If a bookie came up with that for a football weekend, he'd be laughed out of Vegas.

Don't bother them with the facts.

Republicans don't like facts.

I never thought of this debate in those terms, thanks.

Exactly the answer that one would expect of a willfully ignorant ideologue such as yourself. This is a scientific subject, back up you position with some science.

It's not gonna happen. When these guys hear "Global Warming", it doesn't occur to them that it would be uneven around the world. To them, an example of global warming would be, 90 degrees in Chicago, then the next year, 91, the next 92. That's the intellect you are dealing with.

You might as well try explaining the theory of evolution. Remember, less than 6% of scientists are Republican. This is from a PEW pol taken just two months ago. Wanna bet it's the bottom 6%?

Yet ... less than half the scientists around the world agree with the Global Warming hoax. The American Idol scientists however always agree with each other no matter what ... those are not real scientists.

Ah, sweet Kitten, pulling nonsense out of your ass again, I see.
