2020 outlook

When partisans decide to define such as a "campaign expenditure?"

You can't pay the ho the slush out of campaign money without it being a campaign expenditure. LOL you partisan hack.

I am sorry. I didn't follow this issue very closely.

If the money did come out of the general campaign slush fund, of course it would be a crime.

I thought he paid for it out of his personal funds. . . .

Whether or not Assange is an asshole is irrelevant.

People better and smarter than me about tech are the ones who have worked out the data transfer rates.

You have neither jack nor shit to support your crackpot RUSSIA! conspiracy lunacy.

By asshole I mean trustworthy, he already has an unhealthy relationship with Russia.

It's also not a 'crackpot' conspiracy theory if multiple agencies have found it to be so. To blame it on some insider would be the unfounded conspiracy.

Who do you trust more, Trump or Komrad Brennan and Mr. Clapper?
I'm waiting for Barr, Huber, Durham and Horowitz to finally tell us WTF happened with regards to Russia and Ukraine
.

Trump will and has lied about almost everything, big and small.

Agreed. Trump is a serial exaggerator, and lies all the time. Makes you wonder if you'd want to do business with him? Then again, he prospered in the toughest city in the world, so he's no dummy. Which is why we sent him to DC, to rub the establishment's nose in their swamp shit.
No matter what they can't stop him, that's the up side, a re-boot for the DC swamp, who were getting too powerful.

He ripped a lot of people off and lost more money than any other American in a 10 year period. New York built Trump (well, and daddy's money) Trump did not build New York. And yes, he's dumb. He's also his own swamp and he's not rooting out any corruption in DC either. Why you guys buy this dog and pony show I have no idea.
Very true

TRUMP is a name and an image.....very little substance

Should the vote count if they have illegals?
It should not.

Should a vote count if a foreign government has been shown to have influenced the results?
Still mad about those Facebook ads?
Of course. You're not upset that a foreign government was able to interfere with our presidential election?
I'm not upset at all that some Russian dudes posted a few ads on Facebook. I am upset that our so called "News" Media is engaged in influencing our election every minute of every day.

Promises Kept | President Donald J. Trump's Accomplishments

I keep saying these tards live in a cave, kept in the dark by their propagandists. How does one NOT know Cohen is in jail for illegally paying off Stormy Daniels?

Michael Cohen admits violating campaign finance laws in plea deal, agrees to 3-5 year sentence

Trump directed Michael Cohen to make illegal hush money payments, prosecutors claim

How Michael Cohen broke campaign finance law

In none of those links does it say the money came out of a general campaign fund.

What they all state is the prosecutors decided to consider it an "illegal campaign contribution" from Cohen.

I don't know why.

"The case has some parallels to the federal campaign finance prosecution of former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, a two-time Democratic presidential candidate. Edwards was indicted in 2011 on charges that he was part of a scheme during his 2008 campaign to have two of his supporters spend almost $1 million to conceal an affair.

Prosecutors argued that the payments were tantamount to illegal campaign contributions, but the Justice Department eventually dropped its case against Edwards after trial jurors deadlocked on five of the criminal counts against him and acquitted him on the sixth."

Why did Edwards get a Jury trial and get let off?

I do not understand.

It all seems political, not lawful to me.

If men want to keep affairs secret from their wives, that seems to me their business. But then, if they happen to be politicians, all of a sudden, it is a campaign violation for some politicians, but then not for others? And some get Jury trials and others just get sentenced?

:dunno:

Should the vote count if they have illegals?
It should not.

Should a vote count if a foreign government has been shown to have influenced the results?
Still mad about those Facebook ads?
Of course. You're not upset that a foreign government was able to interfere with our presidential election?
I'm not upset at all that some Russian dudes posted a few ads on Facebook. I am upset that our so called "News" Media is engaged in influencing our election every minute of every day.

To be sure Mike, EVERY KNOWN influence affecting the 2016 election outside the normal channels CAME FROM THE DEMOCRATS. That is what made the entire Mueller investigation and now the impeachment investigation so funny.
  1. DNC rigging the electors so that Bernie couldn't win nomination no matter what.
  2. Hillary and the DNC fixing the Steele Dossier.
  3. The FBI fixing the FISA court.
  4. CNN and Donna Brazille stealing debate questions.
  5. The DNC trying to turn Trump rallies violent then blame him.
  6. Perpetual lies about Trump by the liberal media.
  7. James Comey dropping charges on Hillary, his admitted felon, to keep her in the race.
  8. Hillary avoiding the media for 235 days during the campaign.
  9. And the DNC using the Steele Dossier and Comey as grounds to start the Mueller Witch Trials.
The hypocrisy is stunning.

First off, there is NO credible person on the planet that doubts the legitimacy of what is in the leaked emails.

The corporate and government media want every compulsory educated, brainwashed serf on the planet to argue about whether those emails were stolen by an insider, or hacked by Russians.

Do you know why? Because it distracts from the CONTENTS OF THE EMAILS, and their very, hugely corrupt and damaging implications.

Defenders of the establishment, the DNC, the Democrats and liberals probably need to go back and read them. Otherwise, they are living in an alternate reality.

THE CONTENTS ARE FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN WHERE THE HELL THEY CAME FROM.

Nobody influenced the election more than the corrupt DNC and Hillary herself. If they weren't? There would be no slime to reveal.

It is that fucking simple.

Nothing has been revealed, leaked or whistle blown on Trump that is as disgusting as what was released in those Wikileaks emails.

Arguing about whether it was a leak or a hack is a giant distraction from the fact that you should run as from away from such a loathsome bunch of creepy corrupt people as run the DNC, THAT WE ALREADY KNOW ABOUT.

iu

The contents of the email was kind vanilla compared to what's going on now. Most people don't even remember what was in them.

Well, I would disagree, the contents were far more explosive.

OTH, yes, you are right, folks have been completely gaslit, they DON'T remember or know. THAT is the whole point. Focus them on, and distract them with a made up Russian story, and make them forget about the real important stuff, i.e. the contents of those emails.

The main thrust of them were about Hillary lying about who she is, taking huge campaign contributions from the tech sector and Wall-street, and her campaign controlling the entire media establishment to get elected.

How is it made up if it happened?

It didn't. Or at least, there is no evidence that it did. The preponderance of evidence is that the emails were leaked, and that they were stolen.

I suppose, it is possible a Russian Agent got into the headquarters of the DNC. . :dunno:

Seth Rich is Jewish though, not Russian. :71:

Seth Rich's early life and career
Rich grew up in a Jewish family in Omaha, Nebraska.[25][26][27] He volunteered for the Nebraska Democratic Party, interned for Senator Ben Nelson, was active in Jewish outreach,[28] and worked with the United States Census Bureau.[29][30] In 2011, he graduated from Creighton University with a degree in political science.[30][31] He moved to Washington, D.C. to work for pollster Greenberg Quinlan Rosner.[30] In 2014, he began working for the Democratic National Committee (DNC) as the Voter Expansion Data Director. One of his tasks at the DNC was the development of a computer application to help voters locate polling stations.[32][33][34]

If folks bothered to understand the implications of those DNC, Podesta and Clinton Wikileaks emails, they would understand that those elites were influencing and controlling the media.

That is one of the big problems since the introduction of smart phones. If it is longer than several hundred characters. . . folks can't be bothered to read it. If it is longer than a three minute clip, folks can't be bothered to watch it.

No intestinal fortitude, not attention spans, no critical thinking. This was done by design though, not by accident.

This list is amazing.

It's one thing to be wrong but it's another to outright lie to make your case. At least 25 of these contain outright lies.

I personally like this one -
33. Hunt down suspected white supremacists, increase domestic surveillance

Really gives you a glimpse into the mindset of who this list is geared towards.

"How dare they hunt down WHITE supremacists! They should be focused on those dirty brown ones."

Vegas tilts odds towards the "team" objectively most likely to lose so that more bet on that team, and that is how Vegas makes money

Well that and the Democrats all have to go through a primary election which helps Trump's odds.

Well, I'd think that normally a primary would improve dems' chances by winnowing out unpopular ideas, but the problem is that the dems (and Trump's party) may be so enamoured with policies popular to them but unpopular to the majority … that we're fucked no matter who wins.

What will fuck us more than anything will prolly be what fucked us the last time ----- voters checking the box on the basis of "I've heard of this guy, I've seen him on TV, all hail TV, TV is my Master, must ... obey...TV".

--which reminds us that POTUS elections are all about marketing and advertising, which in turn reminds us that advertising is the process of persuading the masses to buy stuff they don't need.

As well as the age-old truism that "nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public".

Well, imo, most voters have rational reasons for voting. We may not agree with them. Here in Miss I think one visit by Jr, two by Pence and at least one by Orange made sure the goper won as governor, and the Trump message was the dem candidate didn't stand by Trump against the Dems' attempts to steal his 16 election. The 16 election didn't have to do anything to the governor election, and the dem was a blue dog pro gun anti abortion ex-prosecutor with a record on cracking down on domestic abuse and child porn, and the issues were the dems wanted to save rural healthcare with no cost to taxpayers and a small road tax … both of which are popular to about 60%. The republican was going to win regardless, but Trump's argument hit a chord.

But the winner has to control the message. Bill Clinton was really good at that. So was Obama v. Romney. W was good too.

But this election is going to be decided by at most 2 million, and more likely one million, in Wisc, Mich, Pa and Fla. And single payer, freecollege, open borders and class warfare isn't gonna get those people. In 16, Hillary's corruption and the interventions by Comey and Putin didn't let her get those voters. Trump's going to have voter enthusiasm. And Trump's proven he can motivate dem voters too.

Meh, I don't know about that. 45% of the electorate didn't even bother to vote at all and in the four states you mention, none of them voted for anybody (nobody cracked 50%), ditto here in NC. That seems like a whole lot of unenthused.

And I believe the margin that tilted the infamous three WI/MI/PA to Rump was a total of like seventy-something thousand in three states combined. That's razor thin.

No argument. the margin wouldn't fill the Football Stadium in Happy Valley half way.

But I think people have reasons for voting as they do. They may think Trump is put upon by impeachment. We may agree, but it's not irrational. I doubt all that many are simply motivated by race, although some are.

Some don't vote. I admit I don't see that unless its a vote for potus in a non-competitive state.

The problem comes in when Facebook or someone gives people the means to flat out lie and target specific locals or identifying features. Free speech was never before a license to lie.

New poll: 34 percent 'less likely' to vote for Clinton after new email revelations

All during the summer and fall of 2016, the pseudocons were celebrating the effect the meddling was having on the election.

Suck on it libs. Hillary is done for. She just can't win if one third of her voters are considering voting for someone else.

The Clintonites of the forum live in denial.

And how many are much more likely to vote for Trump as result? Many, many...

That means 1/3 of them were going to vote for HIllary. You can't win an election when 1/3 of your supports jump ship.

Hillary is done. Stick a fork in her.

"And how many are much more likely to vote for Trump as result? Many, many..."

"Hillary is done. Stick a fork in her."

Now that the tards know Russia was behind those leaks which affected the outcome, they are trying to pretend it had NO impact.

Sorry, but I"m not as stupid or as forgetful as you tards are.
Wikileaks wasn't "meddling," moron. It was just making facts public. You support that, don't you?
It's called selective leaking, dipshit. Just look how much dirt about Trump has been made public since. That would have definitely given Clinton a 49 state sweep.

My point stands. If Russia had not intervened, Trump would not have won. You tards were celebrating the results of that interference, and then afterwards tried to claim their meddling had no impact once you learned Russia was behind it.

Unfortunately for you, my memory is way better than your deliberately dumbed down memories.
Wikileaks is a private organization. What it does is called "publishing." Government leaks, not private operations. Furthermore, Trump had nothing to do with it, and neither did the Russians.

You're a bonehead who swallows Mueller lies.

The Latest: Democrats win control of Virginia statehouse | Daily Mail Online

Do yesterdays results have give any indications for the next elections or is it just local stuff ?

I have been reading about a pro trump backlash over the "fake impeachment" hearings but I cant see evidence of that. But I cant see the Gop vote collapsing completely either.

Too close to call ?

It was not a good day for Republicans. The elections showed that the dynamics of 2018 are still in play. Heavy turnout in suburban areas which favored Democrats. In Kentucky, suburban voters split their ticket by voting for a Republican AG and a Democrat Governor. Bevins was correctly described as Trump before there was a Trump. It spells problems for the GOP in the suburbs in 2020 and in states like Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. It also points to a dynamic that puts Arizona, Georgia and Texas in play.
