Well fiscal year 2012 has come to an end and our tab for the year is out. Each household owes 10,855 for the year. That brings our total tab to 136,690 each household. And how would you like to pay for that? Don't worry though because the average home value is still 187,400. We still have 5 years before we exceed that at the current rate.

It is interesting if you think about it. In one hundred years we have actually borrowed enough money to pretty much buy in cash every home in the United States. That means if you count how much money we have spent in the past 30 years we could buy every home in the United States three times. Heck we could probably buy just about every house in the world.

I decided to add it up. In 100 years we have spent 79.3 trillion dollars. And of that 79.3 trillion 67.7 was just over the last 30 years.
