The first online round for the K-POP Cover Dance Festival was completed on August 28th. Over 1,500 videos from 64 countries were judged and winners of the first round will be given an opportunity to participate in the second regional round.
The second round, which will be held in various countries, will be judged by K-POP idols. The regional round will begin in Moscow, Russia on September 6th, followed by Sao Paulo, Brazil (September 7th), Los Angeles, United States (September 11th), Tokyo, Japan (September 11th), Bangkok, Thailand (September 18th), Madrid, Spain (September 19th), and Seoul, South Korea (September 23rd). 2PM, Super Junior, Girls Generation, Beast, SHINee, Kara, MBLAQ, miss A, and T-ara will participate in the second round as judges.
Winners of the second round from around the world will be invited to Korea and participate in the third, final round that will be held in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbukdo. The finalists will be given opportunities to meet Hallyu stars, enjoy Korean cultural performances, and tour Gyeongju, a cultural tourism city and once the capital of the Silla Period. And the winner of the third round will be offered an opportunity to showcase a special performance.
Hosted by the Visit Korea Committee and sponsored by Seoul Shinmun, the festival will air on MBC beginning at 11 p.m., on September 22nd. The television broadcasting will consist of eight episodes, titled the Cover Dance Festival K-POP Roadshow 40120 to Celebrate the Visit Korea Year.
