Obama just proposed capping raises for all 2,000,000 federal employees at 1.4% for 2011.

Join me in saying, "Big Fucking Deal, Mr. President!"

When the Republicans win back Congress by record margins this November we need to sit on them and make them go through every department, every line item and ask "Do we really need this?" Maybe we don't need 2,000,000 federal employees? If not, then Adios!

We are still funding FDR Boondoggle Depression Era Make work Departments and Programs like Tennessee Valley Authority and Rural Electrification! Why? Nevermind the unconstitutionality of it, why are we still paying for rural electrification at the federal level?

Since they refuse to take my challenge and make Congress part time, unpaid work, let Congress do the heavy-lifting actually go through the budget.

Maybe they won't be in such a rush to keep spending and keep growing the government if they had to review where the money goes.

The good news is that the effort of actually reading the bills will probably kill a few Democrat legislators.

In keeping with the Spirit of Obama's austerity, Michelle Obama has announced that for her 2011 vacation she will stay at a suite costing $6,600 instead of staying at a $6,500 one

Ah yes, make congress work like it did under Bush. You do remember that for six years the Republicans had it all, and could do nothing but create failure. Their legacy from that period is two failed wars, an economic debacle, and millions of jobs shipped overseas. Not only that, but most of the illegals came in after 9-11. What a record to run on. You really want to let that bunch of incompetants run the country again?

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A REPUBLICAN
By John Gray

Frank gets up at 6:00am to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot
full of good clean drinking water because some liberal fought for
minimum water quality standards.

He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His
medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to insure
their safety and work as advertised.

All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employers
medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their
employers for paid medical insurance, now Frank gets it too. He prepares
his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs this day. Frank's bacon is safe to
eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing
industry.

Frank takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo; His bottle is
properly labeled with every ingredient and the amount of its contents
because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting
on his body and how much it contained. Frank dresses, walks outside and
takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree-
hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our
air.

He walks to the subway station for his government subsidized ride to
work; it saves him considerable money in parking and transportation
fees. You see, some liberal fought for affordable public
transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a
contributor.

Frank begins his work day; he has a good job with excellent pay,
medicals benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some
liberal union members fought and died for these working standards.
Frank's employer pays these standards because Frank's employer doesn't
want his employees to call the union.

If Frank is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed he'll get a worker
compensation or unemployment check because some liberal didn't think
he should loose his home because of his temporary misfortune.

It's noon time, frank needs to make a Bank Deposit so he can pay some
bills. Frank's deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some
liberal wanted to protect Frank's money from unscrupulous bankers who
ruined the banking system before the depression.

Frank has to pay his Fannie Mae underwritten Mortgage and his below
market federal student loan because some stupid liberal decided that
Frank and the government would be better off if he was educated and
earned more money over his lifetime.

Frank is home from work, he plans to visit his father this evening at
his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive to
dad's; his car is among the safest in the world because some liberal
fought for car safety standards.

He arrives at his boyhood home. He was the third generation to live
in the house financed by Farmers Home Administration because bankers
didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electric until
some big government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and
demanded rural electrification. (Those rural Republicans would still
be sitting in the dark)

He is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social
Security and his union pension because some liberal made sure he could
take care of himself so Frank wouldn't have to. After his visit with dad
he gets back in his car for the ride home.

He turns on a radio talk show, the host keeps saying that liberals
are bad and conservatives are good (He doesn't tell Frank that his
beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit
Frank enjoys throughout his day). Frank agrees, "We don't need those big
government liberals ruining our lives; after all, I'm a self-made man
who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I
have.

Frank is 100% murkin.....aka......brainwashed idiot.

I agree with you Frank however I got this feeling in my gut telling me,I'm going to be just as unimpressed with the GOP's fiscal responsibility when they get back in charge as I was last time they had control.

I'm thinking the best combo is one Party controlling one branch and the other controlling the other branch until one party figures out that most people want less government in their lives and I don't see very many really wanting that; not with their own "sacred cows" anyway.

Another "Contract on America" not for, unless of course you include corporations and the wealthy. Weird how republican ideas fail and fail and fail.

"Why Conservatives Can't Govern" by Alan Wolfe

"Search hard enough and you might find a pundit who believes what George W. Bush believes, which is that history will redeem his administration. But from just about everyone else, on the right as vehemently as on the left, the verdict has been rolling in: This administration, if not the worst in American history, will soon find itself in the final four. Even those who appeal to history's ultimate judgment halfheartedly acknowledge as much. One seeks tomorrow's vindication only in the context of today's dismal performance."

To quote Mrs. Reagan....."Just say noooooo", those idiots killed the very word "conservative" for me.

And so it goes again.... instead of addressing an issue, such as that raised by the OP.... the partisan whines begin.

Maybe we really do have the Government we deserve. If people are too fucking stupid to get past who did what and when in previous administrations and continue to justify rampant corruption, stupidity, dishonesty and bad behavior of 'their' side with the 'mommy, he did it too' excuse then, frankly, we deserve a shit government.

I have no problem with gridlock. The more evenly split they are the better. I really hate the talk about "Bi-Partisanship" too. Why is it so great that Democrats and Republicans can get together and fuck us as hard as they can with legislation like Nation Health Care?
You see the way elected officials talk about us on TV, they think we're just a bunch of morons that need to be told what to do at all times. Fuck them!

I am convinced that gridlock may very well be the best we can hope for, put one Party in charge and what do we get, Medicare Part D, put another in charge;what do we get; Obamacare, had there been a R controlling Congress and a D controlling the WH or vice verse, chances are, we'd have neither.

Except that the republicans make it so NOTHING can get done but their own agenda.

Why I like gridlock, that way neither agenda will make as much progress, most of our debt can be laid at the feet of one party rule in the past 10 years or so, I say that without looking at graphs or anything but I doubt if I am wrong.

It's different this time.

Instead of protesting against Illegal Aliens, or Democrats or Obama's Kenyan birth, we need to SIT ON TOP OF THE NEAREST REPUBLICAN AND LET HIM KNOW WE'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!
