Thom Aberle wins the Bi-Plane Gold race in "Phantom", 236.995mph. Thom designed, built and flew this airplane that stretches the B-Plane rules to the limit!

Right behind the cockpit you can see the seperation line where the plane is taken apart so it will fit on a trailer for transport.

Richard Thom also won F-1 Gold with "Invictus" at 241.064mph.

Ernie Sutter wins Sport Silver (Bottom half of field) with his Lancair Legacy #66 "Jus Passin' Thru" at 294.307mph.

There, finally got it right. Sometimes the easiest things are the hardest to do!

Doug Matthews thought he had won Unlimited Bronze in his Sea Fury "Bad Attitude" at 364.239mph but he cut a pylon!

So the second place finisher was bumped up to first! That was Fred Cabanas in his P-51 "American Beauty" at 363.235mph.

Ken Gottschall wins T-6 Silver at 227.482mph in "Grace 8".

Brett Hisey in "Miss America" wins Unlimited Silver at 425.400mph.

Because he won, he can bump up to the main event, Unlimited Gold, later this afternoon. Good to see an historical racer like "Miss America" competitive and winning races again.

Space Shuttle Commander Curt Brown wins Jet Gold in his L-39 "Viper" at 513.521mph.

This is not the actual winning plane but it is an L-39. I'll post a pic of the winning plane when and if I can find one!

Nick Macy wins T-6 Gold in "Six Cat" at 237.557mph.

John Sharp wins Super Sport in his #3X "Nemesis" NXT at 407.061mph.

Nemesis is powered by a Lycoming "Thunderbolt" 8 cylinder 720 cubic inch monster!

Strega Wins!

Steven Hinton, at 22 years old, becomes the youngest Reno Unlimited Race Champ ever! Average speed 491.822
mph with a single lap speed of 505 mph!

John Penny was 2nd in Rare Bear. Average speed 479.088 mph.
