In a 2002 speech, Obama called intervention in Iraq a "dumb" and "rash" war. He said Saddam posed no immediate threat, that it would only fan the flames, that it was to distract from economic troubles, etc.

For all the same reasons that Obama now wants to bomb Syria he opposed the Iraq War

He was talking about the Iraq invasion.

That took place while nothing was going on with Iraq, and the President at the time was looking for reasons to invade.

Syria? This has been ongoing for 2 years..and over 100K people have been killed, with 2 million flooding into neighboring countries.

Oh..and Chemical weapons are actually being used.
