And by the way. The GOP knew all this was going to happen. They knew the housing bubble was going to crash. They knew Iraq would take forever. Etc. They purposely spent up a storm in order to bankrupt the treasury and end all the social programs they don't like paying for.

And besides the government getting more taxes, raising the minimum wage also helps people who live on minimum wage keep up with inflation.

This is so asinine. There are many reasons for the increase in unemployment. I cannot believe people are stupid enough to buy into this rabid right-wing fabricated crap.

Does anybody know how the minimum wage is set in the first place? Who determines that the minimum wage will be XXXX dollars and cents? I really don't feel sorry for any company, large or small, that has to pay minimum wage salaries to its' employees. They just pass the cost on to the customer anyway. If the company is selling necessary products to sustain life such as groceries and gasoline, the company will not be hurt by an increase in the minimum wage. But, there has to be a stopping place based on the economy and inflation. That's why I asked who determines the minimum wage, and on what are they basing their decision?
