Do not worry--an Eisenhower-type Republican will come along and everything will become normal in all sectors of the government--except the tax rate!!

I can't wait to see what the Obamatrons will say about this.

Probably nothing.

Actually--Spending is part of the Democratic solution--the only problem is where to spend and how much.

Hence the cartoon DUmmie :cuckoo:

The cartoon added in the notion that this is the pathway to communisim when in fact Tsarist Russia failed because of a lack of government focusing on the social sectors of the nation.

In other words, the Russian government failed the Russian people, the russian people over-reacted and empowered communists, the communists showed the Russian people that Tsarists were not as bad as they thought! Yes there are bad dictatorships(Tsars) and worst ones(Soviets!)

Of course the soviets were going to attack capitalists because capitalists are on the other side of the spectrum from them. Kind of like how Capitalists attack communists, except communists that help them make money(See Communists China, Communist Vietnam, Soon--Communist Cuba!!)

But it was not the CAPITALIST that failed the Russian people But their non-responsive government. In America, it was Laissez-Faire Markets(unregulated capitalism) that brought about the Great depression yet a responsive government that kept us from following the Russians.

In other words, yomay not like what is going on, but if we continue in the conservative direction, we will empower left-wing fascists.

I believe the implication was the administration was emulating Stalin's rhetoric.

Hey! DUMMIE! they were CZAR's that ring any bells with you??? :cuckoo::lol::lol::lol:

So republicans are returning to their McCarthyist roots. Your cartoon would do Joe McCarthy, Michael Savage, and PubicInfinitum (or whatever the f his screen name is) proud.

Nice detail in your caroon. Karl Marx. Stalin. So your contention is that Franklin Roosevelt was a commie pinko, a marxist, and a stalinist?

This is just sad. Its not only beyond inflammatory, but history proved the douchebag who drew this cartoon to be laughably wrong. the economy didn't collapse. It got better after 1933, and generally stayed on trend getting better. That's why FDR blew out republican opposition by landslide elections four times in a row.

Too late ..........

Excuse me--you really need to learn to make a distinction between ideological positions or else, the conservative movement will find itself isolated because it treats everyone that disagrees with them as communists.

Look at your rhetoric--if you do not hold to this principle, if you do not believe this concept, if you do not accept this position, then you are not an american.

I seen some lefties try this and I start laughing at them and say "I guess I am not with you!!"--because I was not!!

Conservatives goes nuts when you show them either a) you do not have to be a con to hold a similiar position or b) the position/ belief they hold is too rigid for reality or you do not hold it.

Then of course, there is C) that pretains for any political ideaology--your assumptions that lead to this position/concept/belief just does not hold in present day reality.

I think I will go with the Dem solution on the economy. It takes hundreds of years to build a nation like ours, I do not see how letting things fall will make us stronger. Would that not set us back?

Excuse me, but if you really want to see a good example one group of people labeling others that disagree with them, look no further than the Obama administrations DHS report alerting law enforcement to be on the lookout for "right wing extremists" ........ :eusa_whistle:

You mean the one saying that Right wing extremist is most dangerous threat to americans--and then labeling Abortion groups under the threat.

Pro-life/Pro-choice may get a little rowdy, but they are not Right/left wing extremists.

Anyway, I heard it was mainly a hoax based on misinterpretations. Yet, I cannot believe how Conservatives that once promoted imcompetant government torturing "Non-Americans" accused of torture nor get upset when Dems target Right-wing extremists

That is the problem with Americanism--It is really in the eye of the people holding power.

No, its an actual report, not a hoax. I'm guessing you "heard" that on CNN or MSNBC.......:eusa_whistle:

ROFL... Sweet MOTHER... that's hilarious.

It's hard to know where to even begin to respond to this nonsense.

I LOVE the notion which tries to project that the idea that socialist policy can never result in communism... the idea is the Communism is merely some ethereal spectre, which should never be taken seriously, thus presents no threat to anyone and that NO ONE is even interested in 'turning the US into a Communist Society'... When in fact, where a culture looks to it's government as a means of 'caring for it...' meaning that the individuals reject their OWN RESPONSIBILITY TO CARE FOR THEMSELVES, they forfeit the rights which rest upon the embracing of those responsibilities.

The Russians were of a mind that the Government, be it the monarchy or the Communists, is supposed to 'take care of them'... Americans want the government to get the hell out of their way and leave them the hell, ALONE.

But it was not the CAPITALIST that failed the Russian people But their non-responsive government. In America, it was Laissez-Faire Markets(unregulated capitalism) that brought about the Great depression yet a responsive government that kept us from following the Russians.

ROFL... What failed Russia was the mind set wherein the individual placed the responsibility for their well being on that state... What failed the US was the state trying to separate the individual of their RIGHT TO TEND TO THEIR OWN WELL BEING.

Had the government stayed out of the moderate recession of 1929, there would have been no decade long depression which lasted through out the 1930s. Had the US government NOT stepped beyond the constraints placed upon it by the US Constitution, the people of the US would have had reacted to the realities which the market produced...

In other words, yomay not like what is going on, but if we continue in the conservative direction, we will empower left-wing fascists.

LOL... So we should implement leftwing policy to prevent a takeover by the left?

LOL...

Ya can't make this crap up kids...

This position is a PERFECT illustration of how cultures of undermined by tyrants. People rely on any means to rationalize around TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOURSELF AND REJECTING GOVERNEMNT INFRINGEMENT OF YOUR RIGHTS... AT EVERY LEVEL.. for ANY REASON.

Not the whole pic, but nice graphic there:

American Chronicle | The Court-Packing Debacle of 1937

Even revisionists have some problem with what his majesty tried, while couching it in the best possible terms.

Excuse me--the guy you were responding to was talking about the economy. You switched to one of the crazier things that Roosevelt tried by packing the USSC by doubling its membership --i.e. changing the constitution--which had nothing to do with the economy! Yet everything to do with power.

Why not try how Roosevelt choose and fixed Gold prices(he did not have a formula, he named prices at random!!) or how he had some many regulations that they started to conflict with each other and made absolutely no sense. Or even the least mentioned tax revolts during the onset of the Depression due to heavy taxation in the attempt to balance a government budget that was out stripped by spending?

Roosevelt said he will try everthing--unfortunately, he did!!

We are using corporatism.

"In 1931, in some of the darkest days of the Great Depression and the middle of the Hoover administration, unemployment rate stood at 17.4 %. Seven years later, after five years of FDR, and literally hundred s of wildly ambitious new government programs, more than doubling of federal spending, the national unemployment rate stood at – 17.4 %. At no point during the 1930’s did unemployment go below 14 %. Even in 1941, in the midst of the military buildup, 9.9 % of American workers were unemployed."

"Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., liberal New Deal historian wrote in The National Experience, in 1963, “Though the policies of the Hundred Days had ended despair, they had not produce recovery…” He also wrote honestly about the devastating crash of 1937- in the midst of the “second New Deal” and Roosevelt’s second term. “ The collapse in the months after September 1937 was actually more severe than it had been in the first nine months of the depression: national income fell 13 %, payrolls 35 %, durable goods production 50 %, profits 78%."
"In 1935, the Brookings Institution (left-leaning) delivered a 900-page report on the New Deal and the National Recovery Administration, concluding that “ on the whole it retarded recovery.”
