Early in the morning on August 8, 2008 Georgian army attacked the peacefully sleeping cities of South Ossetia and Russian peacekeepers who had been stationed in that region according to a Georgian-Russian Agreement.

Russia protected their citizens and the peoples of South Ossetia and Abkhazia from this aggression which was, in fact, an attempt of genocide of these peoples who did not share Western views and values.

The “ideal democratic Georgia”, which was presented by Western media as an excellent example of rights and freedoms, could not survive long without constant US financial support.

But this Georgia was the place where Mikheil Saakashvili – who later became a Ukrainian politician too – began his political career; please see the pictures at the top of this post.

Georgia is used as a small dog who barks on an elephant. And the example of this country can show young politicians how a friendship with the US and Europeans ends.

Mikheil started his political career with the CIA. He happily became a stooge , operating in the standard way for them and attempted to lead yet another so called colour revolution ( means for US power) . Later , and after he was kicked out of Georgia , he was pushed into Ukey politics for a short time as mayor of Odessa where the US had located its main centre of Nazi opposition to the Government . A very likeable traitor -- highly intelligent , huge charisma and spoke perfect English If he was in Zelenskys position ,Russia would have a real battle to contend with .

I see the Russian trolls are branching out from justifying Russian imperialism in Ukraine to justifying all Russian imperialism everywhere.

Back in reality, Russia started the invasion on 1 aug 2008, shelling across the border, and then using the return shelling to justify a ground invasion.

Oh, don't foret the ethnic cleansing of Georgians done by the Russians. Defending genocide gives the Russian shills here a special tingle up the leg.

At least it is just ignorance rather than deliberate trolling from madteeth this time . The real narrative was hilarious with the benefit of hindsight . For the first two days Georgia enjoyed huge success . The only way into north Ossetia from the south is through the Roki tunnel which is one track . The Russians were completely surprised , had only conscripts at the border and some of their oldest tanks which needed servicing . Their tanks could barely start and so many broke down at the tunnel that it was unpassable . Later when matters were sorted the Russians scythed through south Ossetia and quelled the insurrection started by Georgia acting as proxy for the US . I was in constant contact with Tiblisi throughout , so run along Dumbo with your silly stories .

I agree with you!

No, I cannot agree with you.
