What are we going to do to reduce our national debt

We are well past the point of quick fixes and bandaid solutions

1. We need to look at all spending. Not just those programs that the other side likes
2. We need to look at our military mission in the world and decide if we can afford to have a larger military than the next ten countries combined
3 We need to look at revenue. Return tax rates to where they were. Cut back on deductions
4. we need to put SS and Medicaid on firm footing

5 we need to put lifetime limits on social programs

Where is our bipartisan debt panel on this?

I thought they were going to tackle this when the debt ceiling was raised? They promised

Guess the idea of increasing revenue while you cut spending is too hard for them to grasp

they have offered to increase revenue, I cannot help it if all you read is the ny times or watch msnbc. I posted a wash post article just the other day, where in they said flatly the dems just sluffed it off.

keeping in mind defense is not whats driving us over a cliff;



1. well, defense has taken cuts and is in store for more, much more.

2. using the next 10 countries is an ignorant out, sorry but there it is. see no. 1.

3.the reps have offered revenue enhance prgms. they also want to limi9t and cut deductions to there. raising taxes now is not wise, but there are other ways to skin a cat, just saying we should raise taxes mean as we see the dems on the committee are saying, they don't want to cut anything, you just want to find ways to pay for the fact that we are now borrowing 40 cents of every single dollar we are spending right now.

4. well, tell your super comm. dems to put entitlements on the table......make on offer.
