Flint's auto manufacturing plants got a different source of water than the residents once the plants had issues with the contaminated water.

All of those "Chiefs" leaving Flint did not help. I always tried to read about the best cars to buy and tried to purchase American made models or mostly American made and owned. Then about a decade or so ago I read that at least three thousand dollars per vehicle sold by GM goes to retirees pensions and benefits. Ford and Chrysler have theirs also. So how do you compete when overseas the workers are paid less and the technology in their vehicles is better? Only the American love for trucks keeps the Big 3 afloat.

Hmm..., strangely even so called foreign cars today are assembled in the US today. Nissan, Toyota, Hyundai, Honda, Acura and Kia are all assembled in the good Ole USA. Then about a decade or so ago I read that at least three thousand dollars per vehicle sold by GM goes to retirees pensions and benefits. Ford and Chrysler have theirs also. So how do you compete when overseas the workers are paid less and the technology in their vehicles is better? Only the American love for trucks keeps the Big 3 afloat.

Hmm..., strangely even so called foreign cars today are assembled in the US today. Nissan, Toyota, Hyundai, Honda, Acura and Kia are all assembled in the good Ole USA. In fact the so called American cars are manufactured and then assembled here. Most of the parts of US autos are manufactured in China.

They are assembled here. But by their rules now. By their technology. I will never purchase a car with decades old engine and transmission technology again. Listening to those bullchitt artists. The Asians are better.

15 People Have Been Charged In The Flint Water Scandal​

DETROIT (AP) - Fifteen people have been charged in an investigation of how Flint's water became contaminated with lead in 2014-15 and a related outbreak of Legionnaires' disease. Seven people have pleaded no contest to misdemeanors in deals that will leave them without a criminal record.

The most responsible are the political leaders, the last republican was elected in the early 1960’s. Like Detroit, Flint was full of opportunity in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Democrats have reigned Supreme in Flint for more than 50 years. No one in city government was a Republican. The tragedy of contaminated water rests solely upon the "Democrat majority" running the city.
They first stopped getting their water from the city of Detroit's supply, instead going to the flint river for its intake. Secondly, it was to save money, obviously not public safety. The city council decided not to put minerals in the water supply to keep the lead from leeching out of the older pipes. They did this knowing the likely result was lead contamination. Now the cover-up and obfuscation from state and the EPA. The upshot is that flint is once again getting their supply of water from Detroit, and putting minerals in the water to prevent lead leeching. The people that made the decision to poison the citizens of Flint Michigan will obviously go on to screw up the city in other ways because they will not have been charged it falls upon the employees and lower management not those who ran the city.

Pretty well stated that the Democrats have ran the City into the swamp that I can see no way out but to disband the whole city's Charter and have the state take over and to a recovery act. The people who put the once nice city into this position need to be put in jail and charged under the RICO act.

They refused a state comptroller sent in to come and fix stuff..
