I've thought about that many times myself. One major eruption as has happened many times in earth's geological history, would shut the warmies up for good. Mother Nature can do more damage in a day than all the living things on earth have ever done in four billion years.

Let me guess: English is not your native tongue.

The claim I rejected was that anyone had ever suggested climate change caused earthquakes. Volcanoes putting aerosols and GHGs into the atmosphere has been an accepted (and trivial) component of radiative forcing since before FAR (that'd be the IPCC's FIRST Assessment Report).

Well, well. So our idiot brigade has discovered that volcanos put up aerosols that can cool the earth. For a few years. As compared to CO2 that can warm the earth for centuries. And if you posit a really big eruption, a trapp type, then the net result is a very much warmer earth. Siberian Trapps is a prime example.

A decade ago the skeptics were positing all sorts of natural variations as factors in the increased temps. They were told that they were idiots, and that CO2 was the control knob of climate. Now that reality has pointed out that CO2 is only a (minor) factor and not the controlling feature, climate scientists are scrambling around trying to use the same alternate factors that they had so rudely dismissed only a few years ago.

CO2 theory is failing miserably. It is time to rethink many of the assumptions put in place back in the 90's when by coincidence natural factors seemed to support high climate sensitivity and positive feedbacks.
