10 Traits Found In Socialists

You are right T. There is no such thing as socialist equality. Therefore they will not and cannot answer. Not TRUE equality.

Well Willow, I don't know how socialists, on this board, define it, but I found this on Wikipedia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialist_Equality_Party_(US)

“ The Socialist Equality Party is a political party of and for the working class. The SEP seeks not to reform capitalism, but to create a socialist, democratic and egalitarian society through the establishment of a workers’ government and the revolutionary transformation of world economy. We seek to unify workers in the United States and internationally in the common struggle for socialism—that is, for equality and the rational and democratic utilization of the wealth of the planet. „

[edit] The Obama Administration
The Socialist Equality Party claims that the majority of left-wing opponents of the Bush Administration have silenced their opposition since the 2008 election, and have "lined up behind the Obama Administration."[1], despite the fact that the Obama Administration's policies are in many respects similar to those of the Bush Administration. The Socialist Equality Party seeks to create a mass movement in opposition to the Obama Administration on the basis of a Socialist Program.

Nice but decidedly not true.
Republicans fought a war to eliminate slavery.
Republicans do not believe in the use of force for personal ends. In fact, they want limits on government power, period.

So thanks, but your silly talking points are flat.

Today President Lincoln would be a Democrat. Suggesting todays Republican Party represents the party of Lincoln or TR is absurd.

Like the democrats on here who say any black affiliated with the tea party is only singing and dancing?
Like the dems on here who say that black illiteracy is GENETIC?

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Er..no. Lincoln was the original Republican, the Republican party was built on beliefs just like his....that men are equal. All men. Not just certain special men who think like you and look like you.

Very un-democratic party-ish.
Lincoln never viewed the Negroe as equal to the White man.

You probably think Lincoln freed the slaves, don't you?

Ahh, but it was "conservatives" who wanted to "Keep" slavery. You don't really believe Lincoln would want to belong to the Confederate Republican Party of Teabags?
Republicans were the liberals of that time. What happened to make them into fuckwits is something I don't know.

But fuckwits they currently are.

No, Ravidiot. Not true.

While liberals lie about their roots and claim to be somehow related to the founding fathers, that is a lie.

Likewise it's a lie when they say that the Republicans of yesterday have become the Democrats of today. What a joke. You guys are STILL pulling for the same backwards, hayseed, racist, elitist crap you pulled for then.

And lying won't make you friends.

Really?

Here is the electorial map from when kennedy was elected.

Here is the map from when Nixon was elected, after the civil rights movement.

This is a comparison of Socialism and Capitalism. The link to this is below.

“…The intellectuals’ mantra runs something like this: In theory socialism is the morally superior social system despite its dismal record of failure in the real world. Capitalism, by contrast, is a morally bankrupt system despite the extraordinary prosperity it has created. In other words, capitalism at best, can only be defended on pragmatic grounds. We tolerate it because it works…”

“…The morality of socialism can be summed-up in two words: envy and self-sacrifice. Envy is the desire to not only possess another’s wealth but also the desire to see another’s wealth lowered to the level of one’s own. Socialism’s teaching on self-sacrifice was nicely summarized by two of its greatest defenders, Hermann Goering and Bennito Mussolini. The highest principle of Nazism (National Socialism), said Goering, is: "Common good comes before private good." Fascism, said Mussolini, is " a life in which the individual, through the sacrifice of his own private interests…realizes that completely spiritual existence in which his value as a man lies."

Socialism vs. Capitalism: Which is the Moral System by C. Bradley Thompson

Straw man by the good professor. Even Marx didn't criticise capitalism on moral grounds, he said its morality was irrelevant.

Do you not know how to read? And maybe you should look of the definition of equality.

How much of your labor is confiscated to feed the beast?

Is that your time and effort or theirs?

Who gets to decide how much they will take and you, through their magnanimity, will get to keep?

Can you be a part-time slave?

How much time do people in the US spend at work?
How much vacation time do people in the US get in a year?

Those are not rhetorical questions, they are capable of being answered. When they're answered the discussion can progress.

People work an 'average' of 2010 hours a year. Vacation time is 'average 80 hours a year.
If you sleep 8 hours in a 24 hour period, that will leave approximately 3750 hours as 'free time'.

Start your 'discussion'.

80 hours of vacation????? Really??????

I believe Marx thought morality was irrelevant, regardless off ideology.

Marx's Ethics of Freedom by George G. Brenkert

"The nature of Marx’s views on morality and ethics has long been a matter of considerable dispute. One widespread view is that Marx had no ethics, he rejected morality, and envisioned a communism beyond both. [1] Marx is supposed to have founded a science which sought in an objective, morally neutral manner to understand the origin, growth, and collapse of capitalism as well as the ultimate succession of communism. One only has to read in the history of Marxism to appreciate how generally this view has been defended."

The OP is talking about Socialists and you notice how quickly the usual suspects on the Left rush to defend the home team?

well,, yes they do, but seem unwilling to discuss how the "equality" part works.. I guess we'll have to vote for and pass it before we know "whats in it."
